waste of money, ironically we looked better after the triple substitution and then we let 2 in, odd?

I reckon Shaun Miller will be knocking up a few texts to his agent tonight. How many teams leave out their only genuine goal threat? :?

I had assumed Miller was injured, tonight was a match thrown away, it was a really poor match, terrible to watch....Jim makes a triple substitution, all spot on IMHO......we dominate for 10 mins or so, go ahead from a rather soft penalty, should have then pushed on and strengthened our position, instead sit back deeper and gave away two terrible goals, I don't like losing but don't mind so much if theve fought hard and its been entertaining, tonight for all but 10 mins or so it was neither, to lose in that fashion was simply not acceptable..........I'm at a loss what to say really.........if I didn't have a season ticket there is no way I would be going to The Globe on Saturday...........

This (really) pains me to say it and I said the same last night walking home with my nephew and I said the same to Mrs Seasider when I got in (she got all excited, pre-planning a shopping trip for Saturday).

But no. I'll be there. I've a season ticket. I will continue to support the club throughout.

It's a trial more than a pleasure though in all aspects. It really, really is. I'm not enjoying it. Not enjoying the football on show, nor the Globe "experience" (Globe ....... ) - it's not felt "right" for 5 and a half years now. Sadly.

But. We keep the faith.

I'll be honest. At present there is only one reason for Mrs A and I to renew our season tickets in the summer, and that is that her dad's already given us the money for them. It does at least give us a day out on a Saturday, with a decent lunch at the Palatine before walking up to the ground. Tuesday nights in winter are a different matter, and I may forget those. Also probably do what we've done this season and not purchase tickets for any game not included in the season ticket, i.e. not attend any pre-season or cup games. No point if we have to watch that crap and don't even get the benefit of the lunch and the walk.

I'll continue to support the club whatever happens. We've been through bad times before and survived. There's no way that I will walk away...unlike some....,, :( :( :(

Same here Neil.

I'll continue to attend every match this season and will be buying a season ticket for next.

We take the rough times with the smooth.

Just need to get the "feel good" factor back again. On AND off the pitch.

Same here. Those of us (not sure how many are left !) who remember when you could turn up at 5 to 3 and park in the car park behind the School goals at Christie Park and then go in and join about 200 others to watch the team getting dicked by the likes of Mossley and Matlock etc I will continue turning up hoping it gets better before long.
We seem to have had groundhog day every season under Jim. Brilliant starts with good football followed by a change to defensive formations that are like watching paint dry.

I will also be renewing my season ticket. We are awful at times ) more often than not) at the moment, but support Morecambe FC. That's if we are winning, as in Northern Prem or Conference or struggling in League Two. If people want to stop away that's fine, but do it and stop telling everyone you're going to do it.
I'll wait for all the " we have an opinion and can say what we want brigade"

Well, I won't be. Feel superior all you like CC, but this is the third season in a row were we've tailed off terribly after a bright start and the majority of the season has been thoroughly unentertaining fair. We all spend countless hours on shrimpsvoices complaining about it - well, I'm tired of being taken for granted by the club, putting up with substandard facilities on the wall and the stand behind the goal, and substandard play on the pitch, and I'm being taken for a mug no longer - and attendances show that more and more people are starting to feel the same.

So sit on your high horse at the top of your ivory tower and sneer at those of us who have had enough all you like, but don't dismiss our reasons for not going - last night was the first match in over ten years I have chosen not to attend.

I don't think anyone on here is in an ivory tower and snearing at others, but Im sorry that you think so and you aren't going to attend anymore, but don't blame you for not coming.
Yes we all have conflicting opinions and at times it gets a bit heated, me included, however essentially we all crave the same things, winning and entertaining football, surely?

I feel we are at the crossroads as a club this season.
The novelty of being in League 2 has worn off, just as it did in the Conference.
The difference is we were a big fish in the Conference at the time, and barring a couple of blips, we were persistently top half, so relatively successful.
We cannot expect PMG and the board to keep bankrolling us, that is obvious. Whether the interest is there or not, I don't know, but there is a distinct lack of board members at away games these days. I don't know if that means anything?
The results have been OK, we are mid table after after all, but home performances have not been great results wise and as a result of poor games the gates are dropping.
We are hemorrhaging fans at an alarming rate if this board is to be believed, and we are doing the same money wise season on season just finishing lower mid table.

Does PMG still want to be involved? Are other people, local business people willing and capable of buying him out?
It seems to me the malaise has crept in off and on the field, almost like we have newish ground, survival is assured again, that's OK then.
We need new blood, enthusiasm and vitality from somewhere, coming from the top down preferably, in my opinion.
PMG has done wonders for us, but maybe its time he handed it over to someone to get us to the next stage? Maybe he wants to? Just an idea, no idea who, but are there people locally who have the money and interest?

Football wise -
Jim was bloody gutted last night, absolutely devastated with what we all saw.
He does trust the players and never points the finger, however last night that changed.
He admitted he got the formation wrong to start with, there are some on here suggesting otherwise, and that he needed to change things when he did. It worked, until those mad three minutes.
It wasn't acceptable for anyone who saw it and there will be repercussions.

Where do we go from here?
We are at a low but Newport are coming as are Pompey, its been crap and may well get worse before it gets better, but whether you choose to come or not on Saturday, if you are attending or doing something better with your time, (fair play to you) we still ALL want us to win.

I'd hate it if we turned into Macclesfield or Kidderminster, years of stability in the Conference, then finally getting into the league, then start tossing managers aside like confetti chasing a dream.
Newport have had five managers in 18 months, we have had five since 1990, that's what has got us where we are, not flashing cash around.

Jim is still young and learning all the time, but he makes mistakes like we all do, but he does care, very deeply and I bet he learned a lot about his players last night.
I still feel he is the right man for the job, do we want or need someone taking charge whom for them its just a job?

It will change at some point, any of the above things could happen, I repeat for me we are at the turning point, an upwards or downwards curve is coming, I hope there are positive moves afoot, but we cannot and will not progress by staying as we are.

Keep the Faith, even if you don't come and watch anymore, we ALL want us to do well.

I'm delighted to hear that!

Too often this season, the Morecambe Player team and the fans at the game have said it was dreadful, with boring, negative football, only for Jim to come out and say we were 'nearly there' and sound like he was generally happy with what was served up. Northampton on Saturday, he defended the style of play as 'almost there' and not unhappy. But no-one else watching it from Morecambe was happy!

Hopefully Jim being "bloody gutted" means he'll stop being stubborn and go back to what was working early in the season, when we scored & conceded but played some lovely, entertaining football, rather than sticking with the same crap that just doesn't entertain or work?

Games like Carlisle away in October feel like such a long time ago  Yet the players who played such lovely football that day are pretty much all still here & available:
Roche, Parrish, McGowan, Edwards, Beeley, Devitt (Mullin - 79' ), Kenyon, Goodall, Ellison (Ryan - 89') Miller, Barkhuizen (Molyneux - 89' ). I seem to remember Barry rolling the ball out to feet a few times that game too...

So how did that work out then?

It's when you are a season ticket holder and attend every game with blind loyalty that you don't realise that there are plenty of other things you can do with your time than watch Morecambe.

I've said for a few seasons now that if I was actually physically handing over up to £20 per game, I would seriously reconsider going to as many games. Generally, its been crap. As it happens, the season ticket is a bit more of a sunk cost, to me at least.

I have missed the last 3 home games, two because of a holiday and one because of working away. I have only missed one other home game in around 12 years. Did I miss it? No. So it isn't surprising that people start falling away or decide to spend there time doing other things.

Loyalty works both ways as well and without going overthe globe issues again, people are undoubtably feeling less connected to the club.

The big opportunity missed this year, as said elsewhere, was the Daggers fa cup game. A big game like Everton away would have reignited some interest, and had we at least played well it might have encouraged some back to home games.

I doubt you could accuse anyone who supports Morecambe of being a glory hunter.

Sick to death of three seasons of anti-football perhaps?
