This is stating the obvious ,and if a fan had said it, Jim would moan about the fan ''getting personal'' about his players, who ''give their all'', if he wants to have a go at anyone, it should be the people who mismanage the business he is employed by,leaving him with no budg.........

Drop them;play the young lads who will at least give their all. There's nothing to lose is there?

Well Saturday's line up could be interesting....well worth those 'stay away fans' giving it another shot.....

:?: :?: :?:

Team v County for me would be:

Baz
McGowan Doyle Parrish Conlan
Bailey Ellison Goodall
Barkhuzen Miller Devitt

Is it the players or the tactics the manager uses. Jim very rarely picks the right team makes poor substitutions and is now blaming his players i think time has come to make a change if things continue jim wont be remembered in the right way when he leaves the club

Ellison in CM is interesting;he would win headers and also take no prisoners!

The only players that will leave this year will be the 3 or 4 good ones, the ''weak'' ones will not go anywhere if they have contracts, and lets not forget ,Jim never inherited them, they are all his own recruits.

Kelleher on loan to Colwyn Bay. Hughes has just left Stevenage "by mutual consent". Makes you wonder?

Perhaps Hughes may be returning to Morecambe, paid for by loaning out Kelleher, Bondswell and Bailey?

I readily admit I criticised Hughes and was happy to see him go, but given our current defence, perhaps it's better the devil you know. He could certainly manage the back line - scored a few goals and we didn't leak soft goals with him at the helm. When was the last time any of our defenders scored from a corner or free kick?

I'd have him back in a heart beat, warts and all, as he was head and shoulders better than our current centre backs.

Hughes possibly back...please no!!!

I posted earlier that Doyle needs a chance. Bringing Hughes would for be a backward step.,...

Let Accy have him..,

I agree that Doyle deserves a chance to prove himself. BUT, at the same time, he's young and inexperienced and needs to play alongside someone who can manage him properly. That's probably why Jim doesn't play him. Not sure at all that any of the centre backs is up to that job really. Parrish is good but not a leader. Edwards is too young himself and still learning. A centre back partnership of Edwards and Doyle would be a potential catastrophe.

We also need a new captain for the next 3 months as Beeley isn't up to it at all. For all his faults, Hughes fits the bill. No, he's not the perfect man for the job, but if he's all we can afford, then he's better than the alternatives.

Never good when the manager starts to criticize his players! If they aren't good enough or doing the job he wants them to do drop them! I don't care who they are he as manager has final say over who plays and where, by blaming them he is going down the sammy mac route of "it's not my fault" However small our squad is he has to pick players who are good enough not slag em off for not doing it! I don't expect miracles but would like to see some semblance of a team playing football rather than just going through the motions. After last night all i can say is at least it's another game closer to the end of the season! I will continue to attend but would like to see our top scorer perhaps get on the field of play once in a while!!
Don't worry be happy!

I'm not a fan of goalkeeper captains, but at the moment I think Baz is our best bet for skipper. He's far more vocal than Beels, and is also on of our most consistent good performers. Give him back the armband till the end of the season, unless of course Hughes did come back, although again he wasn't one of my favourite players. People talk about Doyle's inexperience, but on the few occasions I've seen him he looks fairly composed on the ball, more so than any of the other three centre back options. Difficult to pick between the three who to put with him, so maybe let Goodall drop back there to take over. I do think comments like Jim's could have a negative effect on team morale, although I suspect those he's referring to know who they are. They should also realise that, if they want to leave, they should put themselves in the shop window so somebody else actually wants them. Team for Saturday? I'll go

Baz
McGowan Doyle Goodall Conlon
Fleming (sorry, but he does play better with Devitt on the field) Kenyon (Not ideal, but I've put Goodall in defence, not a position for Kenyon)
Barkhuizen Devitt Ellison
Miller

I know it's still using many of the same players, but it's a complete change in defence, where the biggest problem is.

Jim said pre season that Fleming was playing for a further contract this season. Wonder if he is one of those who Jim referred to... :?: :?: :?:

Molly is on a one year as is Dugdale and Wilson I think.

That leaves Kenyon who is on the first of a two year deal

Agree I'd get shut of these lot too. Think molyneux is on a 2 year contract tho. Thats a good clear out I'd say even tho we might not maintain a few we'd like to keep

Just out of curiosity, how often have we had the same starting line up in successive matches? What's the most we've gone without changes, enforced or otherwise?

As a (slight) change rather than 4/2/3/1, I would play 4/2/1/3.
The front 4 would be Dev playing in the hole behind Barky/Miller/Kev.
We would still have 6 defensive outfield players behind Dev, and pose a real attacking threat.

The job of the "4" and "2" is get the ball and give it to Dev; he then picks his passes to the 3 strikers!

We may concede but I'd be very surprised if we didn't score..........let them worry about us.

I think we've only five players who are in contract after Summer, all the others are up. The five are Murphy, Barky, Molyneux, Wildig, McGowan. I'd keep Devitt and Miller, but realistically, will probably get offered contracts elsewhere. Dugdale and Flemmo have extra 1 year options on their contracts.

Out of the others, I wouldn't lose any sleep over losing Beeley, Wilson, Edwards, Flemmo or Dugdale. Edwards and Dugdale are nothing special this season and I'm sure equivalent replacements could be found without too much hassle and cost. Beeley and Wilson are nowhere near as good as previously and Flemmo has had a lot of chances to reach his potential, but just can't hit the standard needed.

I'd hope efforts were made to keep Kenyon, Goodall, Parrish, and Mullin. Kenyon and Mullin are young and always enthusiastic. Goodall is a good utility player. Parrish has gone off a bit but deserves another contract to prove himself again.

As for the youngsters, Doyle, Bondswell, Kelleher and Bailey, impossible to say as we've simply not seen enough of them.

That leaves big Kev. A hard act to follow and difficult to replace, but he's not as sharp as he used to be and his time is running out. If Jim could find a replacement, then he should, but I suspect he can't so probably here for another year and hope he doesn't drift away anymore and doesn't start getting prone to injury.

if Molly is under contract for another year, I would be starting him to try and get him turned back on again.

to say Molly can play L/M, C/M, L/B, should be given another chance in the starting 11?

its frustrating, it happens a lot with us, when we give 2 year contracts out, and soon wishing we'd only given them a year

Must only be 6 months ago when we were feeling lucky to have this bunch - "two best full backs in the League" someone said.
Beeley M.O.M. nearly every week last season - do they feel uncomfortable with a microphone stuck in front of them, even Jim doesn't frequent the W&L pre match, or the upstairs for that matter, any more.
Edwards was a rising star, Molly was ace in pre season and I thought we had landed a gem. Fleming was a real catch and on to bigger things. Kenyon had the world on his plate when he came here, but hasn't progressed IMO.

Kelleher has gone out on loan.
Doyle looked a real proposition, but hasn't been seen since Wimbledon away? when he got sent off.

Really don't know what happens to them

Doyle was sent off at Torquay. Think he's played a good 8 or 9 times since then.
Played away at Cambridge when we won 2-1, then came on away at Accrington and played well but was then dropped for some reason

Remember now, He replaced Fenton at Wimbledon in March 13, then got sent off at home to Torquay in April

Other games were:
Accy Away Apr 13
Daggers at home Sep 13
York Away Jan 14
Pompey home "
Cambridge away Aug 14
Tranmere Away "
Last game was Fleetwood Away in JPT when we won 3.1
