Must only be 6 months ago when we were feeling lucky to have this bunch - "two best full backs in the League" someone said.
Beeley M.O.M. nearly every week last season - do they feel uncomfortable with a microphone stuck in front of them, even Jim doesn't frequent the W&L pre match, or the upstairs for that matter, any more.
Edwards was a rising star, Molly was ace in pre season and I thought we had landed a gem. Fleming was a real catch and on to bigger things. Kenyon had the world on his plate when he came here, but hasn't progressed IMO.

Kelleher has gone out on loan.
Doyle looked a real proposition, but hasn't been seen since Wimbledon away? when he got sent off.

Really don't know what happens to them

Will these "weak players" be dropped tomorrow or is it another in the long line of excuses the manager makes to try to avoid blame himself? It's all wearing thin. The players are his signings, the tactics are his, the team selected is his. The negative football on offer has lost supporters and as a result money will be even tighter for next season. We need a drastic rethink of our tactics. We need to play an attacking formation and forget the drivel about tightening up the defence- look what damage that has done!!!! We need our best team selected unlike against Mansfield when our most effective players were sat on the bench. Come on you Shrimps- lets see some fire and passion for the club.

In fairness to the manager the squad has to be 'managed' because it's so small in comparison to our rivals (including unfortunately even Accrington ) Certain players have to be rested due to the number of up coming games over the next week or two. I'm as much pissed as others by the last result at home but understand Jim's thinking...and if it means that we don't burn the players out then we have to accept it...although we may not agree with the logic.

I'm sorry Christie's Child but I disagree with you. Yes we have a reasonably small squad but having been knocked out of all cup competitions very quickly it's not like we have had an excess of games. The players are professionals and no doubt on a decent wage. Jim clearly got it wrong against Mansfield and in my opinion should have changed things a lot quicker than he did. I really still think that if everyone is fit Jim doesn't know his strongest team or formation. After so much of the season has already passed this is a worry. I would say probably 80% of the players are underperforming but Jim's to blame for some of the tactics and formations he chooses. For me I'd agree with other posts and go for a much more attacking formation. Attack is the best form of defence!

In the 70's and 80's players used to play on mud with a medicine ball and got on with it and had no problem playing twice a week.
Now we have fitness regimes, technology, fitness levels, heart monitors and people handing them water and energy drinks after 20 minutes....
Don't get this need a rest tripe, players should want to play.
They used to play 1 to 11 and each number knew what his position was, wearing the same shirt most weeks, now it's like a lottery and quite frankly I have no idea what players in what position or what formation will be played - don't think some players do either.
Don't put so much emphasis on who the opponents are either, do what WE are good at

Hey..no disagreement from me on that score. :)

Attack means entertaining football, something that I've been on about for longer than I care to remember (and no doubt others) but we just don't get it now after the superb start to the season.

It all changed when Jim publicaly said that we needed to tighten up....BUT for me the signs of what a crap defence we had were for all to see during the pre season and even far back as last season when for me major surgery should have been done. However we can't go out and bring in some fresh blood because of the lack of funds so Jim has to work with what he's got. Unfortunately for me he isn't prepared to give youth a go despite some of the dire performances especially of late by some of the more established players...and dare I say it 'favoured individuals' despite their poor individual performances. :x

Maybe tomorrow we'll see a change but I wouldn't hold your breath....

It will certainly be an interesting team selection and probably the most scrutinised for a very long time, after the remarks by Jim you would think that players would be dropped but then he might choose to go down the road of " i expect a reaction from the players " the trouble is that card has been played too many times before after poor displays maybe its time for more drastic action.

Agree with all of that, i always thought if you play twice a week you just cut back on training, what about other sports look at tennis players that is a very physicaly demanding sport often played in extreme heat yet they can play several times in the course of a week.

Tommy boyle was the top striker in England in 1916 but, he enlisted in the ''Accy pals'', and fought in france, returning home every weekend to play for Burnley, he is the only football player to win a george cross, for bravery int'war, and an fa cup medal.
After ww1 he took his honeymoon in blackpool, he attended a non title bout of boxing where the british heavyweight champion was due to fight an african boxer, who failed to show, Boyle stepped in, and went the distance with the champ, then went back to the savoy, serviced his bride, and 9 months later she presented him with 3 sons.
A real man was Tommy Boyle, not like todays footballing puffs!
