Premier League 2015/2016

What everyone's opinions on the premier league this year, i think its quite staggering how bad our top teams really are i think we need to look at the players that are performing this season for example Vardy came from non league football, Chris Smalling came from non league football, Delli Alli came from league one football all are performing incredibly. I think we need to start looking at english players that are getting overlooked because they are in the lower leagues its been proved we have incredible footballers in the lower leagues but the real wuestion is why are they in the lower leagues i think we have a problem at grass roots football these players should be getting picked by top clubs at a younger age and intergrated into the club what does everyone think.
I'm Chloe and people find it strange i'm football mad but ive been football crazy since i can remember.

Keith, can we get rid of this?

We're a League 2 side, who honestly gives a flying you-know-what about the premiersh!t; not me, for one. Also, should be Off Topic - can't get more off topic than discussing the premiersh!t on Morecambe's forum, when we've no chance in our lifetimes of reaching such lofty heights.

Rant over. :x

The huge infux of european players in the premier league means home grown players are forced down the leagues, it would be interesting to see what would happen if our country ever had a referendum , and decided to leave the EU because at least half the players in the PL, would have to leave because of their newly aquired ''immigrant status'', all the lower league UK born players would go up a level, then we really would have substandard players to moan about!

For far too long, the Premier League has concentrated on "personalities" both players and managers. Because they have so much money available, they just pay £silly to bring in famous personalities, primarily for the media attention, which in turn increases the team's profile and makes even more money for them via TV rights, merchandising, etc.

The result is our National teams' woeful performances as we have so little "home grown" talent in the premier league and for some reason, it seems the national team can't possibly have any non PL league players in it! So it's the same old players in our national teams with only the occasional new face - very boring and predictable.

I find it quite exciting to see some new home-grown talent coming up into the PL from lower divisions and long may it continue. Let's hope it knocks some sense into the PL teams to look beyond the personalities and their own academies. (But I'm not holding my breath, I think these are exceptions rather than the norm).

For my views on the PL see my signature.

Having said that the PL Is undeniably fascinating. Any football fan who says they aren't interested in the PL are lying. I hate everything the PL stands for but it's very entertaining.

I genuinely don't have. Honest.

I don't watch Match Of The Day.

Football Tonight on Channel 5 ? Yes, I'll watch it.

Non League football ? Yes, I still attend matches.
