I don't post on here that often but feel compelled to right now after reading this.

Morecambe played well tonight! Granted, there were a couple of shaky moments but nowhere near as many as recent games. Deserved a point!

I think they only had one chance in the entire match and it went in.

We played really well second half and probably deserved to win , but Baz wouldn't have been up if it had been 1-1. How did the keeper saved Molineaux's shot just before the goal.

Really feeling good after that. Come home and opened a Beck's blue (dry January lasts till Friday) in celebration. If we play like that the rest of the season we're home and dry. Roll on the next match - who knows, I might have to stop the negative predictions. :o

I was going to post something intelligent, witty and insightful.

However the only thing I can think to say is:

Feck off John.

This thread, Facebook and Twitter all day you've been a relentless negative tucking bore about how Morecambe are going to lose. Well we didn't. If you can't make the games be positive.

Well done to the fans tonight, great support, great noise, even when it looked like we would get nothing. The team and crowd fed off each other.

Fairytale ending but nobody would begrudge it, stirring stuff.

Conlan and Flemo were superb tonight against a very good Portsmouth.

Stockley equalised for them at Fratton on 95, so they can't really complain about big Baz!!

Smiles all over the bar, great to see, keep the faith! :)

A much better performance. We battled away and were more than a match for Pompey. I thought we were unlucky to go in one down at half time. Conlan and Flemmo impressed for me. As for Baz, just glad to say i was there. Please please let this be a catalyst for future performances. It was nice walking home with a smile for a change!

I nearly commented on your "we'll lose anyway" line on Facebook John, but I let it lie.

Well done Baz, well done Flemo - deserved MOTM.

Well done all. Superb.

Thank you and goodnight.

Conman was my motm, while Mrs A agreed with the sponsors. I turned to my neighbour when it was announced and said 'I bet Christie's Child just turned purple'. (That's done it - just given away my secret identity.)

As the teams were read out, I groaned when Flemmo was still there. I will hold my hand up and thought he was great tonight.

Big improvement tonight in terms of work rate, closing down, and the defending in general also the movement when we were in possession.

We did struggle to create much in the way of chances but then again so did Portsmouth but what a finish to the game fantastic watching Barry running towards the corner to celebrate his goal, a well deserved point.

Agree about Conlan and Flemming both had good games, lf we play with the level of intensity that we showed tonight in the remaining games then we should win more than we lose. The team have come in for a bit of stick lately but credit where it's due tonight was much better well done.

Interesting statistic: for how many clubs, this far into a season, has the keeper scored more than the entire defence put together?

Yes we know you continue to support Morecambe and we are truly greatfull and no doubt the club are, but comments like "who cares we will lose anyway" doesn't do the rest of us that pay through the turnstiles any good, I am sure you can appreciate that.

I am not a conflictive person but this is beyond a joke now.

Get behind your team as bad as it might seem at times. As you say, work is more important than football and I agree..

1] subscribe to shrimps-player you tight git.

2] think its a £12 day return to Morecambe - Blackpool, even if you make a handful of games a season, people might respect your opinions, or at least understand your frustrations.

Mark, just a point, but if BS contributes nothing to Morecambe's coffers, i.e. never buys a ticket, doesn't subscribe to Player, does he ever buy aything from the club shop? If not, then he is providing no 'support' to the club, and should not be called a supporter, especially when he is continually negative. I know after last Tuesday I was as negative as anyone (except I didn't call for the manager's head), but as any who were there will know, it was warranted. 7 days later, and I'm still on a high the morning after last night.

Oh, and Posh, don't mince your words luv. ;)

I've got to say John, I concur with ALL the above mate.

There's been enough negativity around the place of late to even depress Pharrell Williams with a winning lottery ticket in his hand.

Last night was brilliant. We played SO well and deserved the point.

Rochey could EASILY have 2 goals to his credit.

Onwards and upwards.

A much improved performance crowned in fine style by a wonder goals from our 'new' striker, Baz.

The team deserved nothing less than a point with a battling performance against the high flyers and promotion candidates Portsmouth.

MoM was certainly Fleming but so frustrating that he produces a performance like that so few in a season.

However a special mention for Luke Conlin who must have made the left back berth his own whilst he's with us. His distribution on the whole is very good but his eye for a pass to a colleague and his positional play argues well for his career and hopefully for ourselves in the short to medium term. Not sure if there is any truth in the rumour but it has been suggested that Jimbo has taken him on loan with a view to a more permanent arrangement next season. If true...excellent and begs the question 'has Jimbo found another gem'... :?: :?: :?:

Portsmouth for all their financial clout produced very little to really troubled us although I'd prefer to think that our defence was on top of their game for once. However how frustrating is it to see how we can perform against the better teams but struggle of late to the lesser ones.
