POINTS REQUIRED

Dagenham & York ---both played 28 and managed 20 points[0.71/game] x 18 games remaining = 13 more points )A total of 33! Morecambe have 36 points as things stand. So if Dag .& York don't improve their ratio,we have enough points already!!!!! Forever an optimist

50 points has to be our priority, nothing less. I don't take anything for granted in league 2. It has been a poor season apart from the start of the season in which we always start off well then it goes downhill after that.

Well with 16 games left to play and only 13 points gained from our last 16 played then if that form continues we should just about make it.

50 minus 36 is 15? Probably tougher games will be where the points come from.

There is no way in this world we will get relegated, and I doubt we will get under 50 points.

Nobody will have said Leicester wouldn't win the title because the title was not on the agenda to ever discuss.

Getting relegated is something we are always going to worry about, but not this season, in my opinion.

I wasn't suggesting that we won't get any more points---simply that we wouldn't need any more if the bottom two don't increase their ratios

So close that the only teams to finish below us were:

19 Hartlepool United
20 AFC Wimbledon
21 Northampton Town
22 Wycombe Wanderers
23 Bristol Rovers (R)
24 Torquay United (R)

So how did that work out then?

51 points is the lowest total we've achieved in a FL season in 10/11. I think we sold Duffy (our best player that season) when we looked comfortable for next to nothing because his contract was winding down and ended getting dragged into a relegation battle. The club put on free buses to Barnet (probably costing more than the fee we got for Duffy), the win ultimately proving vital. Had we had a similar season 12/13 we would have been relegated on GD.

I don't think we will get dragged into a dog fight this season based on what I've seen and also because I don't think you will need as many points as 50 to stay up. Both Daggers and York would need to win at least 8 games each whilst drawing 4 of their last 18 games just to reach 50 points. That's double the number of wins they've each managed all season so far after 28 games. I think they'd do well to reach 45 from their current position.

Our performances recently have deserved more points than those attained which would have put us in touch with the playoffs. The defence is costing us badly (we will need to address it in the summer) but I'm confident we will get enough points. If not it could be a very interesting last game of the season vs York City.

Interestingly our loss-percentage so far this season is equal to that 10/11 season at 46%.

I also don't think we will get dragged down into a fight this season but if we did I wouldn't bet in our favour as I don't think this team has the fight in it to get us out of that situation.
