Good Luck Sgnt Major o/t

Postby marky No.1 » Sun Feb 07, 2016 7:50 pm

Just to wish Mick the best of luck in his new venture.
He's been a fan of MFC for years, contributed to lots of things and I for one appreciate all the work he put in to Indies trips (Blackpool Shrimp usually first there) and some good days, nights and weekends along the way.
His vocal contribution will be and has been sorely missed home and away.
5 years now since he posted on here.
Like for others, things changed with the move from Christie Park. For me someone in a similar mould would have been ideally the landlord at what is now the Hurley.

:)

What's the new venture and what's happened to The York?

So how did that work out then?

Moving to sunny Spain where I think his daughter lives.

Mick and the rest of the Indies/York Hotel crowd have been sorely missed since we moved grounds both home and away.

I tweeted him a good luck message after reading this thread...

Mick has just replied

Atmosphere at games has never been the same since Mick stopped going to look after the York, Carlisle Paul swapping shrimps for sheep and Mick Birch being pensioned off to the PMG stand..

Hope Mick has a happy retirement, sounds like a good plan!

It only seems five minutes ago I was down at the York every night trying to help him get set up, how time flies that must have been 9-10 years ago.

The Indie days, happy days I don't think following Morecambe will ever be the same.

Good luck Mick and Lynn
