POINTS REQUIRED

POINTS REQUIRED

Postby 1953 » Sat Feb 20, 2016 6:32 pm

My post just over a week ago stated that if Dagenham/Yeovil and York only managed to maintain their ratio of points per game, we wouldn't require any more points as they wouldn't catch us----WE DO NOW NEED AT LEAST ONE!!!! [From where though]?

Until we are mathematically safe we need as many as we can.

Call me negative but I think we need some more points and its hard to see where they are coming from. Currently we must be the worst team in the Football League and I have no confidence that the manager and the team can turn things around. Lessons don't seem to be learnt and at times it seems the players don't care.

Must win games for us are Dagenham away (they have NO home wins this season) Crawley away , Barnet home and Hartlepool home.

Then there's always Accrington away :o :o :o

Exactly, they haven't beaten us since 2014

Currently, we're not even the worst team in League 2, so no, we're not the worst in the Football League.

I am amazed that a record of 1 point out of 21 is not the worst in League 2 currently. It's derisory and what is particularly frustrating is we repeat the same defensive errors without any discernible sign of improvement. That is unacceptable at both player and management level.

We're above them on virtue of goals scored! :?

Yes but we have conceded one more goal than Dagenham!! Why are we apparently unable to organise the defence??

The Dagenham fans reckon 42 points will be enough to stay up this season.

This should be achievable but when you think a few weeks ago we were thinking about the play-offs !!

Accrington are 16 points above us with 3 games in hand and a budget probably smaller than ours , are they what they are and never too high and never too low

Err, yeah, that's how it works...

Number of points.
If the same, goal difference.
If the same, goals scored.

Yeovil's point against Plymouth tonight means York drop into the bottom two after defeat against Northampton, leaving us 18th and just 10 points above them both...

10 points clear with a goal difference in our favour which is worth another point. That is four games both York and Yeovil need to win where we lose. It could be better but it could be much worse.

What worries me is that the gap has closed quite significantly. Weren't we 16 points clear of the relegation places a few weeks ago that has now closed to 10 points?

We have to acquire 4 wins from 14 matches to be safe.

That sounds simple until you consider that we have gone 7 matches without a win.
