Fleming

Before we get the pitch forks out, I thought he'd actually been playing better for a few games and was beginning to show some of his promise once more. He's still got the talent in him.

Flemmo has been playing well lately and was mom the other week. Bristol fans were saying that he was having a decent game, till he was sent off.

well, the average league 2 wage was £800 PW 2 seasons ago, so if ellison was on slightly above that and fleming slightly below, add the 20 per cent employers nat ins. and we are not far off.

I suspect we're well below average wage payers.

Simply taking the total wages and total number of employees from the accounts gives £26k average wage for 12/13 and £22k for 13/14. That's a simple average and includes 25-28 admin/support/hospitality/shop staff (and maybe stewards if included in football related staff) who will be relatively lower earners, so that does suggest the higher earners (management and players) could well average £42k (£800 pw).

My guess is that isn't too far off, in that our top earners are likely to be achieving the league average, meaning that our average is well below that. But hey, we're all just speculating!

Providing they put 100% effort and total commitment to our club whilst with us I've no problem in players earning as much as they can. BUT I have serious problems with anyone who plays below their potential week in....week out in the knowledge that they will be off to pastures new come the end of the season.

That's my worry about the present group of players of which the majority are out of contract in the Summer. They may already be fixed up elsewhere for different teams and probably won't bust a gut to get us out of our present slump.
Players just look on clubs as employers a bit like those of us with jobs do with our employers. Do we love our employers ? probably not !
And players don't love football clubs unlike us fans.

Got to happen otherwise what's the point in having a number of youth players making up the first team squad. I just hope that the management take the plunge and go for It....... :?: :?: :?:

Maybe that we are now minus Fleming ( no great loss for Me) then we will see at least one of them v Carlisle.

Wages won't just cover Basic Salary though it will include NI E'RS (13.8%?) and Pension E'RS (5%?), so actual employee gross pay won't be as much as you think.

Employer's NIC is shown separately under the heading of social security costs. Pensions are usually likewise under their own heading. Only the wages and the social security costs are required to be shown in the notes as per the published accounts. So, unless the accounts havn't been prepared under the normal accounting/disclosure rules, the figures I've used are indeed the "gross" wages paid and don't include employers NIC nor pensions.

I think some of the team are on substantially more than 1k a week. That's why I don't understand the "poor little Morecambe" line.

Pure speculation but I'm guessing Baz is top earner and so he may be on a grand (or more) a week. I would have said Kev but given pre season he was a bit part player and only got a one year deal I'd say he is on less and can't see anyone else being close.
As I said, pure guesswork, and Beels having come from mega rich Fleetwood could quite easily be on far more. than a grand.
We will never know.
