A summary of the Forum

Postby mrpotatohead » Thu Feb 25, 2016 9:26 pm

There was a large top table of management and directors, agood turnout of around 120 i would say, Derek Quinn had a microphone that he had to share with all present ,and peter M, started proceedings with a speech explaining how the lost cup game, powercuts and postponements had cost the club 25000 quid , he mentioned comments off here by people who never watch the team being harmfull and negative. the format was, put you hand up and ask a question a d derek legs it to and fro with the mike, there were a few sensible questions, but 60 per cent of the time was taken up with stupid questions like ''can we organise a few games per season to be played on the isle of man!

PAT?, .....from FCOM, hogged the mike a bit, and worded his comments and questions in a way that seemed like he was speaking for the majority of fans, with comments like ''nobody likes the name, globe arena'',

I personally don't dislike it, and I dont think most people dislike it, I just prefer Christie park.

The format, with a single mike made it difficult , I asked 2 questions that were not satisfactorily answered in my opinion but there was no chance to challenge the answer.s

Too few valid questions were asked in my opinion.

because the time was wasted on daft ones.

Not at all - I thought all questions asked were valid and excellent.

Even the IOM one. Lots of money over there.

Enjoyed it tonight.

Someone made the point that the Club has no presence whatsoever in Lancaster, now that the sign at Skerton has gone showing the details of the next game.

The same person also suggested that, with the completion of the new Link Road, the Club should lobby the relevant authorities to have a brown "attraction sign" on the new M6 Junction stating that Morecambe FC is close to Junction 34.

The Board said they would look into both of these issues.

Too many of the decent questions were ruined bythe fans asking them not having correct figures at their disposal, making them seem ill prepared and easy to dismiss.

thanks nick. for your input.

Peter M, said he does not read shrimpsvoices, but actually addressed nearly all the concerns raised on here, including speculation about how the club files their accounts with companies house.

An excellent night and one that could only do the club good in my opinion. Interesting comments from Pmcg about possible new investors. Lets not get carried away with the news but good if it comes to fruition.

Like the idea of a panel made up of Directors and fans. Could be a vital link between the parties.

No doubt there will be a few moaners about tonight's meeting but they had their chance to ask questions....,

PMG mentioned that the TV money will increase significantly this Summer but he didn't know by how much. He thinks that with the new TV money the club will be able to break even with gates around 2,000.

jim said he stands by his decisions regarding hughes and amond, and cited bad luck regarding key injuries and a small squad , he also said that most teams in league 2 suffer at home because of the way teams ''set up'' for away matches.

nobody at the forum questioned his tactics.

Have to disagree...

Possible new investment.
Possible share issue.
Suggestion of a fans and directors panel
Explanation of why the finances are as they are.
No regrets from Jim re Padraig
Excellent links with Liverpool and other major clubs.
New TV money

All in all certainly more than I expected.

What I actually said was.

Can the club stop offering the 3 u14's free to away fans, As when we go away, Other clubs very rarely offer our juniors the same deal as there's. I Did know the answer but was asked to ask by one of the juniors who travel to away games.
