Brace yourselves then because Deadman is in charge for the Luton game...

Entertaining game, was surprised at how well we competed and thought we were going to suffer when we hit the woodwork in quick succession. Generally dominated for an hour but never looked comfortable.
Looked in control with 10 mins to go and presumed Edwards would come off having been holding his side for ages and in obvious pain.
I would only make 2 subs when you are chasing the game, not taking off a pair that were keeping defenders occupied - everything went tits up from there on, great to see atmosphere at the Globe at last even if it was from the blue end.
Who gets done for all the smoke bombs?

So why not just sub him for moly and leave the formation (which was working) alone?

Robbed - pure and simple.

Realistically, you can't fault Jim or the players, we competed and put in a very good performance but a poor refereeing decision cost us all three points, AGAIN!

In a way it wouldn't be as bad if we were playing poorly because we'd know what we have to do to address it. But there's nothing else we can do at the moment - it's just bad luck over and over again. I feel sorry for Jim. When are we going to get a run of 7 games where we get dodgy penalties and soft, undeserved goals in our favour?

Luck only accounts for so much; we are contributing to our own downfall.Given our current run, the desprate need for a win and both winning and in control yesterday, why make changes? I don't buy "we have a game on Tuesday"; we were winning yesterday and even if Dev was knackered it should have been like for like and minimal changes as the points were (almost) ours. Yes it was a soft pen and there was a foul on the build up to their winner but we didn't help ourselves and again have nothing to show for a decent performance especially in the first half .

True, but at least people are coming on here and saying it was a decent performance, so that's something. Good game? Entertaining? Okay, we were robbed by all accounts, but it's heading in the right direction perhaps?

So how did that work out then?

It WAS a good game - no doubt about that.

Best we have played at home for a while.

Things are definitely heading in the right direction.

Keep the faith.

Only thing that spoilt the day for me was those bloody flares the Cumbrians had (some how?) got in.

Yes, this was an improved performance but we began to get ragged a little before the harsh penalty and the substitutions seemed to disrupt the side. I think we have to take some real positives from this performance and try to keep our shape for the whole of a match. I also think the manager needs to look at his substitutions- they didn't work against Carlisle and tended to have a negative impact on the side.

The subs were necessary in my opinion. However we could have subbed two others also. The whole eleven put a shift in, and has previously been mentioned Dev and Mullin were absolutely dead on their feet.
At the time we were winning and we still have game in Tuesday, I do buy this, because it's a fact! We have no Miller as he's stil suspended and Wildig hasn't played a full game for weeks, we still have Flemo out also. So is it a good idea to keep people on for 95 minutes when we have another two games in the week?? Really?
So protecting the most tired would seem like common sense to me? :D

I hear what your saying about the subs. A great pity because Carlisle were scared stiff of Devitt.

After watching the highlights IMHO it was naïve defending by McGowan for the penalty.

If he had gone down first , the referee would have penalised Wyke and given us a free kick.
