POINTS REQUIRED

If York City maintain their current form from their last 10 league games for their final 14 games, they will finish on 42 points (1.1 points/game).

If we maintain our current form from our last 10 league games in our final 14 games, we will finish on 47 points. If we lose on Saturday then our last 10 game form will worsen..... and we could finish on 41 points!

Other teams in poor form (PPG last 10 games):

Hartlepool (0.70) = 39 points
Cheatenage (0.80) = 44 points
Creepy Crawley (1.00) = 52 points
Daggers (0.70) = 30 points

Obviously things change when the sides play against each other..... I think we need to play all of those teams including York!

Theres not many games in the last 10 that I've seen that we've deserved to lose, but you can only blame yourself if you can't defend set pieces. The longer we go without a win the worse the situation will be come.... so lets win on Saturday for Christ sake!!!

Do you think we'll miss out on the play offs? ;)

We still need 10 points minimum but where are they coming from .....

Home - Wimbledon, Barnet, Hartlepool, Stevenage, York and Plymouth

Away - Luton, Crawley, Cambridge, Orient, Exeter, Dagenham and Accrington

Its a dangerous tactic but we need to target games like Stevenage, Hartlepool, Barnet etc to collect the points needed

If we collected 10 points then York would need 20pts (7 wins) and Dagenham would need 26pts (9 wins) to catch us which is unlikely

46 points would probably be enough to stay up this season

York have 13 games to go. In those matches they have to play 8 of the current top 10. We think we have problems!!

If we had played against Newport who were a dire team like we did against Carlisle we would have beaten them comfortably.

I think the points we need will come away at Dagenham and Crawley and home to Barnet Stevenage and Hartlepool.

Call me optimistic but I think 42 could be enough for safety this season, and I think we will get more than that. The bigger question is where the extra points come from but we should get at least some from Daggers/York/Harltepool. A point each from Crawley,Barnet,Stevenage & Exeter wouldn't be impossible either.

We will be safe.......

this season reminds me of Sammy's last season, when we only just luckly stayed up thanks to other results, with teams around us.

going through the same motions :(

If we manage to get 42 points .....York would need to win 6/11 and Dagenham 6/12

Well, as things stand at the moment, ANY TEAM APART FROM THE TOP 3 could be relegated. That would of course mean some very strange results, but if we can go 10 games without a win, then nothing is impossible!! Let's just get some points on the board and make sure that we are still in Lg 2 next season. But once we have got the much needed points, we do need to have a real hard look at our approach to games - far too negative for me. Can J.B. accept this and change things or does it actually require a change of a different sort (personnel)?

J.B seems to think we have been playing good football just not getting the rub of the green! Survival this season will be a close run thing but i think we will do it. Next season more of the same and we will be in a worse position with possibly a couple of our better players leaving. Our budget (sick of hearing this) will be smaller and so we will be less able to attract a better quality of players imo.

Exactly this - carry on playing boring defensive tactics and there'll be ever fewer paying punters, meaning even smaller budget for players. Something has to be done to stop the rot. From recent interviews, it doesn't look as if JB even acknowledges his part in the problem, let alone trying to find a solution. If he thinks grinding out boring draws, the odd win and defensive tactics are the hallmarks of a successful football club, then he's in the wrong job.
