i know what you mean.

thats whats bugged me over the years, when they go on the defence of anybody speaking out with valid points, like its a crime. they write posts knowing full well Directors and Staff will be reading and that they'll get a big pat on the back of the head come next match day.

and PMG at the recent fans forum as highlighted this

FFS!!! I'm calling BULLSHIT on this AGAIN!!!

What there really is, is a hard core of negative posters who feel that everyone else should bow down in front of them and treat their words as gospel! If they post negatively and someone dares to disagree with them, then it is because they are sycophants of the club.

The negative posters...

I can assure you, the club have never liked this forum and I have never had a pat on the head for anything written on here. I have, on multiple occasions over the years, been taken to task for what other people have written and for not removing it, as though that somehow means I endorse it.

Right, I've typed that really... REALLY... REALLY... SLOWLY so those of you who think a bit slowly can keep up! Now moan if you want to, but shut up with the persecutory 'you're not allowed to say anything negative' bullshit.

think you're missing the point, no problem with people disagreeing, thats what a topic is for, exactly that, to hear other peoples opinions.

it was in reference to people with the wording of their posts, woo-ing Director friends or Staff .

Yes and if I hear one more time we played well and were unlucky I will scream

1 point in 27 (the 1 been the keeper scorer in the last min) is not unlucky by any stretch of the imagination. Any other club would have long sacked their manager with a run like that.

"we held our own for 70 mins and then were unlucky" well we weren't we set up not to loose or defend a lead and after inviting more and more pressure onto us we finally crack. Take the Carlisle pen yes a bad decision but if your defending a lead and sitting back eventually they will get into your area and chances will appear for them.

and I think people have lost the sense of what playing well means so have we suddenly started playing with two wingers bombing up and down and lots of flair (like the days of Thommo and Twiss) all of a sudden no we just hoof it a couple of times less and win the odd 50/50.

I lost the faith along time ago the negative home tactics have been going on for years now and it is one of if not the main reason the fans stay away. The problem now is we're in such a predicament as all the fans have been gone for so long we have no money to make any changes and we are staring down a big black hole and who knows where the bottom is.

With hindsight should we have made changes a couple of seasons ago therefore trying to keep the fan base we had.

I have said before I think the board should have given Jim a warning like West Ham did with big Sam about needing to play more entertaining football.

feeling it is time for a change doesn't make you a bad supporter.
The Board was wrong to say negative comments on Shrimps voices are damaging the club. People that come on here and say if you don't like it don't come are wrong. This is the place where Morecambe fans get to give their views.

This thread has gone full circle!

But a quick point on the above, I can see where the club is coming from when it says that some of the unfounded and negative posts appearing on here are damaging.... but I think the club is partly to blame for this because of a lack of information/updates given to the fans.

I totally agree with PMG when he was talking about people who don't watch the team, but are constantly criticising every aspect..... hello Lancashire Gimp!

I can see PMG and Jim getting upset with some of the comments on here, but people only tend to post negative stuff because they're upset themselves with what's happening to the club. I try not to post too much negative stuff (Prediction League notwithstanding - that's just self-interest  ), but there have been odd occasions, most notably the Mansfield home game, where I have posted negative stuff based entirely on what I'm seeing in front of me. By contrast, the next home game (Portsmouth), I chipped in to defend the team against negative comments posted by someone not there, because they were entirely unwarranted given the performance we were putting in. I'll tell it how I see it, and I'll not apologise to anyone, club or SVs, for that (unless I am actually wrong ;) ). As paying customers, we have a right to complain if we think what we're being given is below standard. On that point, I really think we need to attack more rather than sit back and try to defend then snatch a point or win. It patently isn't working, but then as George has already pointed out, we just keep saying the same things and nothing changes. Ho hum...

Absolutely, THAT is what needs to change. We can play for a point and lose as we have been for most of this season, or actually have a go, get in front and then keep having a go. As I said in the Luton thread...

Playing not to lose rather than playing to win, or, more to the point, playing tight in the hope of snatching a goal and then defending a 1-0 lead just isn't working. It's crap to watch and it hasn't worked all season. As we're stuffed anyway, why not, just for a change, try something different? Just go for it. Attack, attack, attack. If we get ahead, work to the principle of 'the best form of defence is attack. Who cares if we then concede if we're actually looking to win some games? Pre-season, I had never been so excited about a Morecambe squad, full of skill & flair. It's been throttled out of them, without bringing any success.

Come on Jim, we're unlikely to go down simply because there are two or three even worse sides than us, but if we do, can we at least go down with a little style & attacking endeavour?

The last Morecambe player to score a goal that actually meant we got a point was Baz. *sigh*

Change the tactics and be more positive. Please!

Makes me think that Thatcher's saying 'the lady isn't for turning (or was it changing :?: ) could easily apply to Jim and co.

Possibly too set in their collective ways..... :?: :?: :?:

Possibly, but let us not forget that although he's the 4th? longest serving manager in the league, this is his 5th? season in management.

The mantra is pretty clear, to fight for a point and then build on that point in the next game and gather momentum.

I think we are now past that as Keith says, try something a bit different. Go 2/3 up top and have a go. Crawley are having much the same season we are.

Do we get Miller back for this one? Anyone else fit again?

I am not negative, far from it. I turn up wanting us to win and thinking we can win. I look forward to watching Devitt and Miller producing a bit of magic and Kev up to his antics. I beat the drum and constantly try to get people I know down to the games.

The people who voice their opinions are tarred with this negative brush but that is not the case( The master of disguise may be the exception). I just think that its time for a change in management and know that we are in a relegation battle.
