In reality, Amond was popular during his couple of years at Morecambe. He scored us some very important goals when it mattered the most. He was never lazy. As many others have said, he was often played out of position and got relatively little time on the pitch.
Unfortunately, his face clearly didn't fit. People say that it was a choice of Barky or Amond. Maybe, maybe not. But on statistics, Amond scored more for us per season than Barky is doing. Amond got 10 and 11 in his two seasons. Barky is on 7 with 35 games out of 46, so if he continues the current scoring rate, he'll end his first season with us at 9 or 10 - similar, if slightly worse than Amond.
Good luck to him, and I for one, continue to be interested in his career and look forward to hearing how he is getting on and fully expect him to be back in L2 shortly, either with Grimsby or another club.

Barky has gone off the boil big time since the new year I think. Amond was very rarely used as a central striker and also played probably half the amount of minutes barkuizen has, and we was in a far better position than we are now this time last year. I'd seriously consider trying to sign amond back if Miller doesn't re-sign next season !

Amond was never the greatest all round footballer but he was brilliant in the area. Jim claiming he 'has found his level' is absolute nonsense as we know there is little difference between the two divisions. Jim never got the best out of him as he played him out of position, he is now doing the same with Barkhuizen.

Jim DID get the best out of Barky early doors but now (as with Amond) he is being stifled, hence my other thread about how imo he will leave in summer. If Barky and his agent (assuming he has one) have an ounce of brains between them they will be looking for the exit door to somewhere where his will be played in an attacking role and achieve his potential.
I think many forget Barky is only 22.

How do you assume his agent gets him out of his contract then? Only way he'll be leaving is if another club pays a transfer fee for him.
