Have we got anybody called Arthur who could play in defence?? (i know it's Conlan really)Kendalshrimp wrote:Great performance from the lads today. Really battled away when needed winning 2nd balls through out the match and even tho it was a nervy ending I think we were clear deserved winners and was unlucky not to of scored more goals.
Great to see the defence looking more solid aswell, bet there isn't many defences in the league with a younger average age at the minute (Conan 21 Doyle 21 Edwards 22). Chris Doyle was superb hope his injury isn't too serious because him and Edwards look to be forming a good partnership at the minute. 13 points clear now and probably safe so hopefully we'll see more of the team playing with freedom and get a few exciting games at the globe !

When we scored the first it seemed like a huge monkey had been removed off the players backs and for 10-15 mins we were all over them. Little bit nervy when we gave away a goal but overall a well deserved win.
Thought Kev's energy was excellent for a guy of his age and definitely deserves another year's contract. All the front line contributed well IMO and we should have scored one or two more.
My first Saturday win since Pompey over 11 months ago!
Less than 1200 home fans but hopefully we will get back 300-400 for Good Friday with 600-700 from Plymouth too.

The reason why we hadn't won in our last ten games even though we had played quite well is that after taking a 1-0 lead we gave up attacking and pressurising the opposition and let them back in the game. Whereas yesterday we kept going at them until we scored again , then we sat back for a nervy last ten minutes .
I too thought Devitt was excellent and the difference between the two teams and ran his nuts off for the Full 90 Mins , so what was all the bullshit about recently after taking our most influential player off after 70 mins as he was carrying a foot injury . Anyway well done Jamie for battling through your 20 min injury problem , hope you recover enough to sign a new contract.
