English Colleges FA Category 1 League Championship

The LMC Morecambe FC Football Academy have won the English Colleges FA Category 1 League Championship!

It is a great achievement by the Academy players and their manager ex Morecambe FC player Garry Hunter. The Academy have now earned the right to compete in the knockout stages of the National Championships. The Football Academy is a long standing partnership between LMC and Morecambe Football Club which has produced over forty graduates who have earned professional contracts with the club. The programme offers an opportunity for students to gain a recognised educational or vocational qualification whilst working towards achieving their football ambitions. The programme offers quality coaching and an extensive opportunity to play in the College’s and Morecambe Football Club’s youth teams. It also provides the opportunity for students to gain regional and international recognition.

Well done lads...!! :)
May the fork be with you....

She bit her lip and breathed in deeply as I forced myself in. No doubt about it - if I didn't lose weight, I'd need to get a bigger shed.

How does the LMC academy fit into the new youth structure that was setup a few years ago?

I thought Neil Wainwright was manager of the youth team yet this is a side managed by Garry Hunter? Are they completely separate?

Hi Shrimpy,
I don't know is my answer I'm afraid!
Perhaps somebody from the club can enlighten us?
I will see what I can find out here at the College.

Fantastic news indeed and can only be good for the area and bringing through new talent.

Well done to Harry Gunter and his squad!!

Think I read somewhere on Twitter today that one of our Youth Teams was playing Barrow Youth at the ground tonight just before 6pm.
