I wouldn't like regional leagues as it is great competing with clubs such as Portsmouth, Orient & Plymouth in league football.

There are many factors including police requirements, travel, steward sharing and many many teams that can't play on the same day example Blackburn and Burnley are not allowed to play at the same time under any circumstances. Neither are the big local clubs like Liverpool/Everton and the Manchester clubs. Bizarrely West Ham and Dagenham can't despite being the least supported club in the FL.

Let me find the article.

How "northern" was the NPL? Gainsborough Trinity, Kings Lynn, Grantham, to name a few northern teams who competed in it? Where would they draw the line for a regional league now? Should we try to join the scottish league in exchange for Rangers? :D
Don't worry be happy!
