Well if they had put the right by-pass in there would have been a link road on to the quay , then all those people living down Quay Rd wouldn't have to go round the one-way system to get home and neither would the HGV's getting to the Lune Ind Est.

The road would have had to go further than the Quay and the nutty professors , Green Party and newts stopped the route to Hampson Green.

I'm sure that was brought up in official circles quite recently.

The Greens nearly played a blinder and got the road stopped entirely. They got the Western Bypass to be out of the question for legal reasons, then played your rather limited ex-MP, to try and block the Northern Bypass because she wanted the illegal, non-existent Western route, almost resulting in neither and a return to ox & cart as the Green's preferred method of transport in the area!
To be fair, most of the time, an ox & cart would be the quickest way of getting from Morecambe to Lancaster!

I think new road won't make a blind bit of difference to traffic sadly. Needed both Western and northern bypasses but it will never happen.
