You are far better parking at bare lane station and getting on the train there.

Cheers Mr Spud, was thinking of maybe parking at Carnforth, nearer home...might be a struggle to get back to Arnside in time to catch the train to Lcr

I don't know if it's still the case now, but it only used to be £2 all day at weekends in Lancaster Station car park...

Fairly sure Lancaster station car park is closed this weekend. Bare's the best option, free station car park or any of the roads around it but make sure you don't block shrimper's drive.

Correct, Lancaster station car park closed this weekend for a spring clean and spot of Feng Shui! Alternative parking advertised as being at Lancaster City FC but I don't know what, if any, charges there are or how long you can leave it there. Normally, it's 4 quid per day at weekends and a tenner each weekday to park at the station, the high prices are to deter non-travellers from parking there rather than in town... oh, and those bloody annoying street market traders' vans!

What do you do if you have to park everyday and get the train to say Preston or Manchester for work car parking will cost more than your train fare.

Especially now all the roads are resident permit talk about putting people off using the train.

Buy a season parking pass, I guess! Unfortunately, finding a solution to increase capacity and therefore lower prices is proving difficult, but I think the old method of having the parking fee reimbursed at the ticket office when buying your ticket or showing your pre-purchased one would be worthwhile.
