Not true. We finished lower in the league under Sammy than we will this year and with getting on for twice the budget, and no one was pushing for him to be sacked. With this budget he'd have got us relegated. Jim Harvey was the same when he came close to relegation from the Conference.

That's not to defend Jim but don't throw nonsense into the debate.

How do you know that, can you predict the future or actually think we will beat a side under us (Stevenage)?

This season we will probably finish 20th or 21st with far lower points than Sammy's final season.

Posh you are the first to be selective in what you throw into the debate. You were calling for facts to be used earlier, and now you are using pure speculation by saying what might have been under hypothetical situations.

Sammy had one bad season under a budget, given to him by the board, that was obviously much larger due to the anticipated additional income from the Globe (which probably didn't materialise). We don't know how well Sammy would have done under a lower budget, as much as we don't know how Jim would do under a larger budget. Additionally, you and nobody on this message board is able to factually compare the two budgets with actual figures.

Someone earlier was praising Jim for getting rid of Sammy's "Journeymen". I put it to you that it is equally as frustrating watching Lee Molyneux (not deemed a journeyman) as it was watching Chris Shuker (Sammy's journeyman). We must also conveniently forget that it was a number of journeymen who got us promoted to the football league in the first place.

I am of the opinion that if Sammy was in charge, there would have been a much more hostile situation at the Globe than there is at the moment, certainly before today's game. But that is understandable to a certain extent given Jim is probably a lot of people's favourite ever player (certainly mine).

However, at the end of this season we need to be open and honest in that it has been a complete and utter shambles. If we bury our heads in the sand like Jim has tried to do and blame injuries, officials, the weather or traffic we WILL go down next year.

We have already conceded more than in Sammy's last season and we still need nine more points to better our total for that season.

I think your the one that's throwing 'nonsense into the debate' Posh.

You might defend Jim because of his contribution as a player and captain at the club over the years but I don't. This season has been a disaster from start to finish with the the so called players who were supposed to take us places, higher up the league. At the start of the season many fans had expectations of a better league finish which up to date has been a disaster. Some fans seem to forget apart from slagging Sammy off for one bad season with journeymen, we would not have been promoted to the football league. I doubt that if relegation happens that Jim could do the same. It is not nonsense but fans having a different opinion.

Accrington, Cambridge, Exeter & York I don't hold my hopes up, however cheatanage maybe manageable.

Just to rub it in, Accrington will probably get automatic promotion.

I think a few people have made the point very well for me.

The comment was basically 'if Sammy had the same has had we'd have been calling for him to sacked'. Sammy did have as bad a season, on twice the budget and few if any called for him to be sacked. So the point was wrong. Yet you make the case and people go ballistic with me.

Get a grip. It has been an awful day but let's take the emotion out of the debate.

P.S. Shuker was allegedly on £1,700 a week plus a large bonus and we paid an agent money to get him and slagged the club off repeatedly. I don't rate Molyneaux don't compare him to that leech.

On current form two more points might be a decent return! Can't see us getting much away from home but we really should get a win against either Stevenage or York.

Back on topic Jim really needs to go at the end of the season. I'd rather give Drummy a go as I think Jim really has run out of ideas.

The situation with Sammy after his shocking season and Jim now were very similar. High expectations turned into a shocking season and although fans weren't necessarily screaming for his head, there was an inevitability that he wasn't going to be in charge the following season.

Both for me are Morecambe legends but its now time for a change.

Why Drummy, surely that is just the cheap option and would it really change anything.....I would have thought experience was key re the next manager (whenever that may be), although the costs of acquiring experience might be out of budget I suppose

Some more facts to disprove Posh's rumours (as these things tend to stick):

These are factual wages and salary costs per the statutory accounts publically available at Companies House:

Sammy's last season - £1,875,602
Season to May 14 under Jim (last available figures) - £1,678,884

The above includes non football staff (which I think it is fair to assume have not changed much) and I have ignored NIC.

So we are looking at a £200k reduction in budget. I can't prove that but it certainly shows that there is absolutely no way we are working with half Sammy's budget.

Go and sit down with any club director or former director and ask them what the budget was for Sammy and what the budget is for Jim this season, and they'll give you a figure between the two. It has been given to me three times now. It isn't twice the amount it is roughly 70% greater. A cut in budget was the reason Sammy gave for resigning; and PMG and Jim have publicly gone on the record about the player budget being cut over the last two seasons.

Still it is a meaningless and pointless debate. I show what others perceive as support for Jim and I get all kinds of guff and bollocks. I personally think if we'd had a stable club and board Jim would have gone now. The reality is we're in an absolute mess financially and structurally. Getting rid of a manager when we're safe but unstable would simply be a disaster. What manager come here when they don't know who owns the club or what the budget it is or whether it might be here at all?

Yet some people are behaving like a lynch mob and totally ignoring the bigger picture.

The average fan doesn't think about how a multi millionaire owner budgets , they are more worried about wasting the limited money and time they have to spend on a saturday, and no one can deny that at the moment it is a waste of both time and money watching MFC.

I wouldn't expect more than another 3 or 4 points now this season, I certainly wouldn't expect to see any personel changes whatsoever until the season is over, but I fully expect the new owners to be announced followed by key staff changes as soon as the last ball is kicked.

Who the hell would buy us and who the hell would manage us.

It's a complete mess that has administration and relegation written right through it.

Who's going to put their hand up and galvanise it, help sort it out, generally be good club people?

Who's going to sit and bitch about it and stare at their Navals.

The whole thing has a "no one wants to be here and know they won't be ere for much longer" feel about it.

I suspect Jim knows that Miller also is on his way to greener pastures hence the Tranmere dude on loan. He looked fairly promising and probably should have started.

Posh the figures just do not stack up, even someone with limited financial or business acumen can see that it is impossible that the budget has fallen by such levels, unless other wages and salaries have increased dramatically since 2011 - i.e. we are now spending twice as much on hospitality wages. Can that really have happened?

Hypothetically, if the playing budget was 75% of total wages and salaries, if Sammy had a budget then which is 70% higher than Jim's, then other wages and salaries at the club have increased by £430,000 using those factual figures. Do you really believe that is true?

We all know that the budget has been cut but I don't believe that it has been cut by as much as you are suggesting, even if you may have been sold a false one by a director.

I agree the club is in a mess, I agree we can't afford to get rid of Jim, I want Jim to succeed as much as you do. But this is not a meaningless and pointless debate just because it does not suit your agenda. There has been lots of comparisons between this season with Jim and Sammy's last and it is right for me to challenge you on stuff you are saying without real fact or basis.
