There are a few I can list, including Tuesday, which were worse and about 500+ return miles further. Could be in credit at this rate

Bit more info from the Argyle end...
http://www.pafc.co.uk//news/article/have-this-one-on-us-3053811.aspx

Not sure what proportion of the costs we're contributing, nor do I see why we should.

Presumably people who had pre-bought tickets and never used them?

Obviously, as you can't refund someone who hadn't bought a ticket! Why should we contribute though? Did we tell them what time to set off?

We should do it because we are nice, John, I think its a decent goodwill gesture.

Fuck that there's a cost involved, I think we should be telling them to go whistle and set off in good time in future. I was in the area and knew there would be trouble so allowed 3 hours to get there from Manchester. They should have done the same.

Bit like when we played Exeter and despite all the advice given at the time to the official supporters coach, roundly ignored it and they turned up some time after half time.

The responsibility for getting to the match on time rests solely with the fan. We didn't delay them and we did delay the kick off to try to help.

I feel sorry for them but see no reason why we as a poor club should pay anything. As any Argyle fan will tell you.... they are a bigger club than us and if compensation should be paid it should be by Argyle. Let Argyle support their own fans.

Are you from Exeter by any chance?

The fans were in the hands of the coach company/their club as to what time they set off. Maybe the Football League should chip in, having arranged such a fixture on a freaking Bank Holiday weekend, although the Clubs then agreed to changing it to Good Friday, which would be even busier on the motorways.
I would think we are in for 40 x £20 = £800 of which we havn't actually provided a service, so although it is a pain it is nothing compared to the hole of £500,000 for the rest of the season - we will save on V.A.T. too!

I hope that MFC aren't refunding the full ticket price and aren't contributing to any other costs.

Other coaches/fans arrived on time. We delayed the start to accommodate them. One coach was so late it didn't make it at all - that suggests one coach set off too late.

The reason for them not making it was whoever delayed that coach setting off.

MFC has little enough money as it is to go around refunding people.

  Halfway between Exeter and Plymouth actually.....I'd have taken the same stance if it were Exeter fans, Daggers or anyone else. I run boat trips for the RSPB and we refund payments if illness or bereavement prevent attendance but, as passengers are told to arrive in plenty of time, if they're late they miss the boat and get no refund.

If Morecambe have contributed to this at all it is a disgrace, the fact that these fans were so late has nothing at all to do with us, the fixture was set by the FL, and anyone with an ounce of sense knows you have to build in extra travel time on a Bank Holiday......

From the Pilgrims forum :o :

"Nice to see the club are refunding each of us that never made it to the game! 50 quid back in the bank!

Also credit to Morecambe who are paying a 1/3 of the refunds."

If this is true I hope its just a 3rd of the coach trip and not given the ticket money back as well, but if he is saying £50 refund then we are paying 1/3rd of the ticket money as well, so same difference

Not true. The FL do not set games on Good Friday. They set them to the quieter travel day of Saturday. WE moved it to Friday therefore we obviously feel guilty. Guilty enough to share costs.

Well, technically I guess, I don't know if they are set for Saturday, the majority were played Friday...but BOTH CLUBS have to agree to any change.....the FL set the weekend, the clubs agreed to change the date, however that is picking at straws really, why should we pay for a few fans incompetence, they knew the time of kick off, they didn't get here in time...perhaps the club would like to re imburse my time..I had set off before I heard the game was delayed by 30 mins.....only joking but isn't it the same principle.......
