The Grand and the Dukes have also become successful comedy venues attracting all but the stadium comics.
A comedy night was started by the Platform a few years back, which then moved to one of the hotels on the prom, I forget which, but folded within 6 months.
It could be successful, it could be a disaster. It needs someone that knows comedy to be heavily involved if it's to be the former. When the Platform still hosted comedy, I went to some woefully attended gigs by some quite well established comedians, so it's debatable if MOrecambe is interested in comedians who may be funny, but that they've never heard of.
I think Jason Manford's company run comedy nights, one which happens at one of the nearby caravan sites to the ground - it might be worth contacting them to see if they are interested in holding at the club, but they may already have a contract with the caravan site.
