Jim will call it a day when he is ready. I agree that it is time for a new beginning with hopefully new owners but until then we carry on.

What new owners? There may not be any. It's got to the point now where if Jimbo loves the club as much as he says he does, he's got to step down now. The club is bigger than him, and he's only spoiling his good reputation with the fans now. Time for him to go gracefully and give someone with a fresh approach to turn things around for next season. Thanks for all you've done for MFC Jimbo, you've done us proud, but it's time up.

I agree he should do the right thing for the club Vinny and leave with the good memories he has. However from Jim's point of view why should he when he has a two year contract. He knows if he walks he won't get a penny as if he stays and waits he may get a pay out. I seriously doubt he will leave until the summer.

Jim will go when he is ready? How much more damage does he want to do? He has to go for no other reason that being shit at his job.

There are a lot of people employed one way or another by the club who should leave, but the club cannot pay them off , or attract suitable magicians to replace them, the situation is grim.

Nothing to be gained for anyone if Jim leaves now. My hope is that new owners with a few quid will arrive in the summer and Jim will be asked to step down paid off respectfully. That will give him room to breathe and find something else. He was a player legend and we shouldn't turn on him, but he isn't up to the job of manager.

Sad situation imo

As much as I think it's time for Jim to go I don't expect or even want him to resign.

He is a working family man with a mortgage to pay and kids to feed you can't just expect him to pack his job in. Would any normal person just resign from their job without another job lined up or knowing they would get a redundancy payment, of course you wouldn't.

So I agree with Caged Lion the club need to the decent thing and pay him off respectfully.

This may seems strange but I have always worried about PMG's loyalty to his managers there are not many chairman you can say that about (apart from the JH situation) , after he offered Sammy Mc a new contract when everyone knew it was time for a change. Luckily Sammy did the right thing and moved but he probably had some money in the bank and other income stream likes MUTV.

Does PMG just think that as long as a manger keeps us in the league that's good enough to warrant a new contract even if we finish 3rd off bottom every year? if it is fair enough but at least tell us that's the level of our ambition.

It would be interesting to know that if PMG still had long term ambitions for the club would he still stick with Jim like he was going to with Sammy or would he finally be ruthless and realise we need a change like he did with JH, I suppose we will now never know the answer to that question.

He should shake PMGs hand and walk away tonight. He can not change it around. We are playing the same old formation that does not work. Kev can not produce the odd big of magic that got us out of trouble these days. What has Paul Mullin done to deserve being 4th choice striker? Why do we not tackle? Why do we get bullied at every home game?

Until there is an official announcement about a new owner, nothing changes. There are people on here who like to drip feed us info that a Director friend has told them or something they have heard from a mate who has a mate who walks his dog near where PMG lives. Its all bollocks to me and it should not influence Jims role as a mananger. He should be judged solely on performances. He knows the budget, he knows he will have cast offs and crocks but he should coach them to be better. That is his job. There is no evidence of a weeks worth of coaching on a Saturday. Our players are small, some are chubby and some could do with a burger! Name me one player who has become a better player through being coached by Jim and Ken?
We are a laughing stock on the field, the leagues whipping boys and it is unacceptable. Please walk away Jim, its just not fun anymore.

I would give Jim the first half a dozen games of next season. If we start anything like we've ended this, then it is too much risk to carry on. On the other hand, it gives him the summer to rebuild, hopefully finding some gems out there. We can put this season behind us, lessons learned, move on. If we can start next season as we started this, then the key will be, can Jim learn from this season?

This season has been shambolic for far too long. Why it fell apart, we all have our own thoughts & ideas, hopefully if we start well next season, Jim will have learned too.

And if after the first six games, we're top of the league but without a clean sheet, and someone hears Jim say "we need to concentrate on defence", then we need to get together and carry him to the end of The Stone Jetty, then drop him in to Morecambe Bay!

What will six more games next season prove? If we give him 6 games next season, that will mean he has had the pre season to bring in players who we will be stuck with for another two years at least. Let him go now/end of the season and let a new manager come in and have the summer to change things. We cannot keep prolonging his stay here because its Jim. The club comes first!

Hopefully Jim will be sacked at the end of the season. If I PMG he's got to look at the bigger picture if he can't sell the club. If he leaves Jim in charge next season were nailed on for relegation. So it might make more sense to get someone else in and pay Jim off because if not and Jim gets us relegated next season then you wouldn't be able to give the club away never mind sell it.

For all we know PMG could be looking around for a manager to replace Jim before he sacks him incase the club doesn't get sold !

im sorry Keith but I wouldn't give him the first 6 games next year. New season hopefully new owners and a new management team. Jim has had plenty of time to rectify the problem this year yet has pretty much persisted with the same formation and players. I don't buy into the theory that we had a weak squad dictated by our lack of finances. Most people at the start of the season were of the opinion that the squad was pretty good certainly capable of a top 8 or 10 finish. This season we have grossly underachieved and Jims constant moaning about lack of money and options and saying we were playing quite well but little things weren't going our way was crap. You could count on a couple of fingers the very good performances at the Globe its of little wonder the crowds have drifted away at a steady rate. I'm not one to stir up a hornets nest but would we be in the same league position if John Coleman was in charge? Can anyone say Jim has more tactical nous than John Coleman? Unfortunately most of our problems this season have been a direct result of the tactics and formation that the management picks. The one blessing is the fact that we have had 2 really dire teams in our league this year who have gone down as most seasons its taken 49 points or more to stay in this league. A similar start to next season how we have played this season and it may be too late!

I think PMG will be doing some number crunching over the next couple of weeks. I don't blame Jim for digging in, and if he has two years left on his contract, he will want at least half of this to walk away.

So PMG will need to find £60K+ not to mention money to tempt a new guy in who could hopefully turn things around.

That said, we have probably lost £150K+ from the 500 fans we have lost this season, so it might be money well spent.

And even with new owners and money to spend I can't see Jim changing his tactics/formation it will still be negative and setting us up not to loose. It's not just been this season it's been like that for a couple if years now.

Please walk Jim. You're a Morecambe legend and would be my first pick in any Morecambe XI but this can't go on.

The players need to take some of the responsibility here. Yes at times we all question Jim's tactics, but he is the man to take us forward. 100%

I'm in agreeance with this entirely (awaits being shot down in flames)

It's the players with the half arsed attitudes who need their arses kicking into shape.

Sorry but how many lives do you give him. We have had the same crap year in year out. We start off well, then we take a sudden nose dive and then the season peters out to nothing. Thanks for the memories Jim but time for a new chapter hopefully with new owners.
