Be nice to have Guinness on tap, instead of out of a can! If you want customers to come back, provide the real product and a good atmosphere.

Brilliant! Sounds like a proper pub name and links to our past, our humour (remember when we had a sense of...) and of course our USP - the pies!

Keep it simple. Few more photos on the walls, things to do early doors (pool table, darts board etc) maybe an outdoor seating bit and a bargain beer offer (£2 pint or something) on each matchday to tempt folk in. If we are cheaper than the Hurley Flyer (even just on one drink) we will get more fans in.

To be a success you need someone in charge who can be the life and soul and have the freedom to try things out.

Pool and darts won't work on match-days, but a couple of good old table of 'Rods' would be great fun!

Came face to face with the infamous 'Grill' yesterday at the St Georges day breakfast (which was cracking vaalue by the way, a shame more didn't turn up)..... a two slice toaster!!!

Anyway you've all got the name wrong, its actually the 'Globe Bar & Light Grill'... check the signage out next time youre passing if you don't believe me.

In an attempt to appease Keith, never an easy task, and because CC asked nicely, I am going to offer some serious suggestions:

Artell's Bar and Grill (scored last Morecambe goal at Christie Park)
Rosebery Bar and Grill (Christie Park was built on Rosebery Park)
Hemingway's Bar and Grill (Wayno connection)
Gilly's Bar and Grill (named after Morecambe FC legend)

That's one eclectic private joke!

Graham Gill was a player who had loads of skill who plied his trade for us under Joe Woj in the mid 80's. He was an enigma, a skillfull but slow and lazy inside forward who when he could be arsed was an asset
(3 games a season depending on the current position of his marriage) or a complete waste of a shirt,
(39 games a s season, with the default setting of his marriage).

At Ewan Fields, Hyde, he spent too much time at a throw in looking at the planes flying into and out of Manchester airport so when the ball was thrown to him, it rolled past without him noticing. He did the same thing from another goal kick of theirs, the keeper fluffed it and he was plane spotting.
Keith will tell a tale of him being slagged off at the Crusty end for missing the goal completely when it was easier to score, someone shouted "Kinell Gilly!" And as the resulting goal kick was being taken he threw V'a at his own fans!! Charming man.

He wasn't popular. :D

Aye, it was reported a few years ago on this forum if I remember rightly.

He ended up playing for Barrow and then Lancaster City did Gilly.

Their fans thought the same of his effort application too......!!

If memory serves he was a postie at the time.
We had a milkman, a lab assistant, a builder or five, and three insurance salesman around that time!

When the reserves trained with the first team on a Thursday night, apparently Gilly used to turn it on and run rings round them? He wasn't a bad footballer, just the only thing slower on legs was a wardrobe!
And for the 18 months we had Tibor Szabo up front with him anything a yard past them both was a through to the keeper, even if it was in the centre circle!!
Thank goodness for Keith Galley!! :D

On their plastic pitch. Must admit, the planes were low!

The only person ever who could jump and his head wouldn't get any higher, he just sort of bent his knees to lift his feet up, then sigh at missing the ball. Again.

Don't like 'Glove' Bar & Grill. Hope you don't put that one forward Neil. ;)
