For the few punters bold enough to put cash on the season’s “joke bet”, the result means winnings of up to £100,000 each, though the nation’s bookmakers will be less than jubilant: between them they will be paying out £25 million, the biggest loss in British history on a single sporting market. :shock:

I'm sure that a few will have put on at least £100. unless there was a maximum allowed (I know nowt about betting never having been in a bookies in my life so I could be wrong)..... :?

Yeah they have had a massive payout from a relatively small amount of bets, but they will have kept millions from all the people who put shit loads on the regular top 4.

I think if you had put more than £100 on at 5000/1 they would have laughed at you all the way to the bank and sent you home in a straightjacket
