Awards Night

Nothing to celebrate. What will Jim say? Could be awkward viewing but I will still be there.

Player of the Season Awards

Postby Keith » Sat May 07, 2016 5:31 pm

I hope it is a barnstorming night, with some really good, positive rumours coming out, or better still, positive announcements. Barry Roche, goal of the season!
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Give over.

Jim's speech at the end of the game this afternoon was fantastic.

Looking forward to next season with Jim at the helm.

Onwards and upwards.

Fans have a point though. How long do we give Jim if we have ambitious new owners? They ain't going to pump money into a club losing fans and fixtures for the sake of a few who want Jim to stay because of his past. Whether it is Jim or Alex Ferguson it is a results based business.

Yup at that point I decided to duck out.

Did anything meaningful happen after the guy in the suit regurgitated the party line of 'long, hard season, small club, injuries, ups and downs, that's football, 10 years football league' etc.

No, although Devitt got the recognition he deserved.

Are you being serious what exactly did you find in that speech that you found fantastic.

Are you for real? Do you not think he was papering over the cracks? He made a number of excuses including injuries and the budget. He failed to admit that this team under achieved. I love Jim, the guy is a Morecambe legend but he is taking the club backwards.

Anyone else feel a bit let down about this evening? Players made no effort to interact with the fans other than Jamie and Kev. Jim made a real effort to talk to a large number of fans. So much for 'community spirit' they couldnt wait to get away.

Yes the players were off on their merry way, but Rod stayed late on and Jim, Ken and drummy were there to the bitter end, in fact we left before them :o ..

No PMG couldn't be there. Jims speech was honest and I liked the lottery analogy....... Adam Lord said something along the lines of"Jamie's in a hurry to leave so I will do the award" wasn't sure if that was a message.......

Devs, Miller and baz got the awards they deserved.

Superb to see Lawrence Bland get the Club Person of the Year Award.

Fully justified as Lawrence does much work for the club on it's statistical and historical side.

Lawrence has also contributed to the match programme for many, many years and was a massive help to me with his articles when I was our programme editor as he is today in his ongoing help to Quinny.
