Deflated

Deflated

Postby Christies Child » Sat May 07, 2016 9:27 pm

After a long, hard season with few highs but too many lows I feel totally deflated and am thankful it's come to an end.
8-)
Whatever happens this coming close season I will no doubt be there come August in the hope that things can only get better. However at this moment I'm struggling to have any sense of optimism but hopefully (and with everything crossed) surely season 2016 / 17 can't be any worse than what we've just witnessed..,,, can it.., :?: :?: :?:

Everybody have a good summer....cheerio 8-) 8-) 8-)

Not many teams concede around 90 goals in a season without being relegated so we should be thankful that we have dodged a bullet.

Surely the defence will be better next season meaning better results ?? Well if the defence is better will the attackers score as many goals as last season ?? Who will score them , Will Miller still be here and will Devitt be making numerous assists ??

Will we have new owners who can push us forward or will PMG still be the owner meaning an ever decreasing budget , probably for Jim and Ken.

Hopefully all will be clear soon.

I am not sure the present personnel at the club are capable of improving things next season. The defence has been awful all season but no improvement has been made by any additional coaching. Several players are clearly not good enough to play at this level but have continued to be selected. Imo our organisation and motivation has been lacking. We need big changes on and off the field if this season is not the prelude to a relegation season next year.

I think deflated is the perfect word to sum up how I feel aswell. I am looking forward to the Euro's in the summer and will try and forget all things Morecambe FC. Hopefully come August, I will be in the right frame of mind and prepared to endure another groundhog day season at the Globe or whatever it may be called by then!

Who are the "selected few"? I think pretty much EVERYONE acknowledges it. It's what's best to do about it that leads to disagreements. Some people point to the achievements of Burton, Accrington & Leicester to 'prove' we should be up at the top of the league and that budgets count for nothing. Other people see budget constraints as being key and the fact that we're even in the same league as teams like Portsmouth, with their 16,000 crowds, as being quite an achievement in itself.

I think with the players we had this season, we should have done better and Jim is far from being above criticism. But, we are still in a strong position because we're still a League Two club. Rather our position than York or Dagenham's.

So how did that work out then?
