In one way, I agree. If we can think of Flemmo as surplus it would mean we were bringing in a very good midfielder as replacement.

The other 10 including these 3 are "still in negotiations" according to Adam Lord's "tweets"

I have mentioned Paz in another post, but thanks to Alan Goodall for some brilliant performances at times. He has been moved around defence and midfield, just like others and feel sorry for him with that. His legs aren't what they were, wish him all the best. When he played in front of the defence earlier in the season, he looked assured in the most part
Young Bondswell just hasn't had the opportunity, looked promising in the few times I have seen him play. Good luck to him

Bondswell was only on the bench at Kendal Town towards the seasons end. That suggests releasing him was correct.

Sorry to see Paz go. He has had a bad season like the rest of the defenders but he had some excellent ones when we feared losing him to Bury and others. Good luck Paz.

No surprise about Bondswell going.

Other than his Walsall star performance he has been given little chance and when I've watched him in the Reserves very recently, he has offered precious little. Even at that level.

I've seen him play for Kendal Town a few times though where he has been outstanding. Perhaps his level?

Good to the lad anyway, he's only young and it must be an unsettling time.

You would have thought our OWS would get the players names right.

Either that or we have a player called Aaron Wilding.

Kenyon is clearly our marmite player. I think he's well worth keeping. Scored some good goals with great runs and always works hard. He's still young but strong in the tackle and plays it simply.

said a few times on here, Kenyon as the attributes to make a decent L/B.

Glad young Charlie Bailey has been retained.

Hopefully now he'll get some games under his belt.

Worries me sometimes how we keep retaining these young players (Joe Mwasile, Dan Parkinson et al) but they never progress/get a look in, and then get released.

Hopefully this doesn't happen to Charlie because he is well up to standard now, in my opinion.

Miller devitt an Edwards keeping their options open but have been offered deals elsewhere. Heard the rest have been offered lower deals but things could change if the club gets sold in the next few weeks. Guna be interesting to see what happens !

Very strange how our defence as a whole has been crap this season, letting in nearly 100 goals, yet at least 2 of them have been offered deals elsewhere

Agreed that Kenyon has scored a couple of useful goals but he frequently gave away possession at critical moments with sloppy passing. Games often hinge on mistakes made in midfield when the ball is given away. It's a crucial part of team stability. Kenyon does nothing for me, he doesn't generate confidence.

Of course he will improve if Jim keeps coaching him, but I doubt that he will ever amount to much. He will never become a left back, he is too slow and can't tackle.

arguably Morecambe's best ever defender Jim Bentley wasn't exactly fast by any stretch, nor was Bobby Moore or Huth and Morgan currently at Leicester.

I think Kenyon's a good tackler, and good at heading the ball, just cos he's been booked a few times this season, seem harsh to say he can't tackle.

so that's you shot down 8-) ;)

Yep you got me. No denying that Kenyon compares favourably to Sir Bobby Moore

I debated this with a lad on Twitter.

He's 23, plenty of years ahead of him and I expect him to do the dirty work alongside Murphs next season which should work. At the end of this season he was the one who had the fight the mouth and the leadership and I think he's got a lot going for him. I don't expect his wage demands to be too extenstive either.

Flemings 28 and had his chance, for every game he's great theres 10 he's neither use nor ornament. He would leave with my best wishes.

Can't understand why Kenyon hasn't been tried as a left back considering that he started out with Stockport in that position. When you consider the problems we've had in defence surely it would have been a good idea to at least try him there..... :?: :?: :?:

Our management team have a history of playing people out of position ie Padraig and to some extent Mullers.....
