Although it'll be no surprise IF he goes there's no mention in that interview that it's definate.....I think IF the take over happens and the budget IS increased there may be a chance that we could offer him a deal that would be tempting. The prospect of a guaranteed place with us could be greater than going somewhere else and having to start from scratch...again

I agree with Child; theres nothing in that interview attributable to Miller that indicates he won't be at Morecambe next season, only the authors inturpretation that other clubs will be interested in securing his signature after scoring 16 goals in a struggling team; which I don't think is earth shattering breaking news.

Theres also nothing in that interview that indicates Miller has grown frustrated with Jimbo, infact Shaun praises Jim for giving him an opportunity when others didn't. Sorry to piss om your chips George.

The fact that Miller has not been told there won't be a contract here for him next season as has happened with Parrish, Bondswell and Goodall indicates to me that the club still think we can offer a deal to Miller otherwise we would have announced his release.

He is contracted to the 31st of may like most players , so nothing is likely to happen officially before then as it would mean a new club starts paying wages before they have to , we are likely to have a new regime round about that time too,so who knows, my money is on miller, barky and maybe devitt , all ''finding'' new clubs around the end of this month.

Tom is under contract so any move away would cost the buying club. Not saying it will not happen but he simply can't leave like Shaun and Jamie.

I have a gut feeling both Shaun and Jamie will stay.

Both are grateful to Jim for giving them games and I think that if the takeover is happening soon (our last accounts have to be filed at Companies House by 24th May) then Jim or our chief negotiator whoever that will be under a new regime may be able to offer a tempting deal.

Possible wishful thinking on my part, but I'd like to think that both Shaun and Jamie will stay if they are convinced that the management can resolve the defensive issues we have, that with both performance and crowd bonuses they could well earn a more than respectable living and even possibly challenge for a promotion spot considering that the number of goals scored this season would usually have been enough to secure at the very least a play off spot.

Get the goals against column down to around 30 and who know where we could be this time next year....

I don't agree with Jim for not playing his best team towards the end of the season in certain games, but as Devitt acknowledged in the interview you are referring to; Jim was taking the opportunity to have a look at players for next season. As it is, the Dagenham game was in itself a useful exercise because it highlighted that Oliver most definitely shouldn't be a professional footballer.
