I am surprised at that. I would have said Grimsby were a bigger club.

It will be interesting to see how he does in League 2 when played as a striker.

Having scored all those goals, you would have thought Grimsby would offer more than a 1 year deal. Hartlepool have offered 2, which makes a big difference to the player.

Not really, they are what they are. He clearly struggled to replicate his goal scoring form against the better sides in the division, you can't argue with that.

I didn't want him to leave at the time, thought the 10 ish goals a season he was good for whilst not being the main striker would be hard to replace but Barkhuizen has proven me wrong on that front.

Podge scored more goals in proportion to time on pitch, and not in his favoured position. Miller was a regular player and got more time on the pitch. Podge was definitely a harder worker and scored some crucial goals when it really mattered.

One thing that nobody can deny is that in the last 2 close seasons we have let go (for whatever reasons) 2 very successful strikers and it will be hard to find an adequate replacement this time around if we are to remain competitive this coming season.

Wonder what happened to the lad Stockton on loan from Tranmere who could well have been a good signing.....

I would of thought scoring 5 goals against you might of slightly impressed you. Only joking I know what you mean but don't be surprised to see us being more of a threat this year. As for Grimsby being a bigger club. Well they have done better in the past if that's how you judge bigger and they do get slightly better crowds but I'm sure we would if we were up near the top. I know one thing they certainly wouldn't take over 500 to places like Plymouth for meaningless games.
