This year has been the most successful year since the setting up of “The Fans' Club”

We have put on more Fans' events than ever before, and helped facilitate some of the match day events at the club also.

We have helped the club with £2500 towards a new tractor for the training ground, We have also purchased a new set of nets and donated them to the club.

As you know we are the only elected fans' group, We have good contacts within the club at board level, We represent ALL fans' and will help to resolve any issues you have.

With the recent formation of the Board/ Fans Communication Group we welcome that the Board are wanting to communicate to fans. While we have yet to see any evidence of communication to the wider audience than the fans selected to attend the meetings, as something we have pushed for we hope that this will evolve over the next season and that communication will improve.

As a Fans Club we have decided to remain impartial and focus on representing our members as per the mandate we hold.

Next season the committee are committed to focus on our members and Morecambe FC fans rather than just being a fund raiser for the club. We are planning more events than ever before to create a proper family feel to the club. Our pledge is that every event will be for all the family and be affordable or free.
We would like more input from our members as to what they would like to see and we will be more interactive through e mail and social media this coming season.

We have agreed to be more supportive towards the fantastic Junior Reds club. While they are run separately from The Fans’ Club we are linked through our common goal of promoting the support of Morecambe FC and we strongly believe that the future generation of supporters should be involved and encouraged as early as possible. Junior Reds held several events throughout the year including their monthly get together with players or officials and the fantastic parties such as the Halloween special. Fans' Club are avid fans of Junior Reds and will be supporting them next season even more so. We have agreed to sponsor each membership fee for Junior Reds for this coming season and in essence membership will be free. We are also looking at providing free merchandise for each member to wear with pride. Junior membership to The Fans Club will be amalgamated with Junior Reds which will result in one junior membership.

Last season the Fans' Club Had 300+ members. Membership benefits included, discount at 10+ local businesses, offering from 10 - 20 % off food, drink, flowers, car maintenance, plumbing and much more.

We would like to beat that this coming season, not only in terms of membership but also in numbers of partners. If anyone knows of a business that would benefit from offering 300+ supporters a discount to help boost their business then let us know or ask them to get in touch.

This year Adult membership will once again be complimented with a discount card for these partners.

We want the Fans Club to be more than a card in your wallet. we want you to feel part of something and be as involved as you want. If you have any suggestions for things you would like to see The Fans Club do, they would be welcome.

We will be holding elections today for committee members. We have recently agreed that being on the committee holds responsibility and a commitment and that every committee member should be aiming to attend at least 75% of the monthly meetings and be involved in activities or be prepared to step down.

As stated earlier we are looking at upping the Fans Club presence and creating more members and fans of Morecambe FC through our work this coming season. We hope that you will support us or join us.

Well done and continue the good work, it should be noted that the directors that are having the open meetings at the globe are happy to work with FCOM as much as possible, their meetings are not just by invite only, and that Paul, the Chairman of FCOM,has indeed attended them and his input was positive, and valued.
