We owe a lot to PMG for getting up into the FL, but its now time for a complete change and I for one hope that he doesn't stick around in the long-term once any proposed deal goes through.

Wholeheartedly agree. PMG deserves respect and congratulations for getting us in the League, but in my opinion, he's run out of ideas and run out of steam. It's time for a complete change, including some others of the Board. We've lost a few long-term major Board members over the past few years and they've been sorely missed. We need a new owner and a few new Board members (appointed by the new owner) to work with the existing board and drive the club forward.
It's very worrying that just 3 years ago, the Board were saying they had a 3 year plan to make the club break even, yet 3 years later, it's just made it's biggest loss. So what was their plan? Did anyone notice anything different happening over the last 3 years?
RedRedWine wrote:Personally, I fear that the new owners will be a business partner of PMGs and we'll get lumbered with somebody who wants to proceed with the projects PMG thinks will be good idea but doesn't want to/can't finance himself e.g. a hotel in the middle of Westgate - which to me sounds like a terrible idea. If it was such a lucrative plan, why hasn't an existing hotel operator already done it or even got involved with the club when land was available at the front of the stadium to progress this idea? I understand Travelodge were in talks with the club a couple of seasons ago, but ultimately opted to build a hotel in the centre of the town. Why is the club still trying to progress their own plans without an individual/group that has specialist expertise in operating a business of this type either on the board or as a partner? It'll be like the Gym and the Globe Bar & Grill - which have been massive failures for the same reasons.

Heysham 3 won't happen anytime soon, so that's one daft reason for building a hotel. If (and that's a big if) it does happen, it wouldn't be started for at least the next 15-20 years. Heysham 3 development is not a priority for EDF Energy. Only Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, and possibly Bradwell.
Going back to the takeover stuff, i'm quite nervous about what the future may hold. We all dream of a rich owner coming in and throwing bags of cash at the club but I don't think this will ever happen to us :(
