I hope your right KS but Shay McCartan can only happen if we are bought. He is 22 so there would be compensation payable.

Your sources seem better than MPH.

To be fair Stanley have already released Wakefield, so I doubt they would be that bothered.

Shay was released by burnley 2 years ago and signed a 2 year deal, he's a free agent and theres no compensation owed, I am told Accy were not looking to extend his time with them, so he would be free.

13 goals in 76 games so thats no surprise

So neither are anything to go wild about.

If they've offered shay a new deal MPH they'll be entitled to compensation although it won't be that much. It's the same with Edwards for us if he decided to move on even next summer n we wanted him to stay. We'd have 3 years worth of delevopement owed on him since he joined from Blackburn, we would of got it for devitt too if he was under 24 !

Expect some announcements by Monday !

Accy offered McCartan a contract weeks ago, just like they did with Winnard. As a contract has been offered to a player under the age of 24 they will be entitled to compensation should he accept an offer from another club.

I don't know what any Stanley players have been offered, only know what we've made a move for not a bad little player whenever I've seen him

Some would say I was never much use anyway...so no great loss... :( :( ;)

Have to say that I'm not that thrilled about all these former Stanley players possibly coming on board. Is this to be the only avenue that our management team have resorted to in the rebuilding of our squad... :?: :!: :!:

Seriously Neil ??

IF they sign, they'll coming from a Play Off squad and will be good acquisitions for us. Highly rated players at this level the pair of them.

Given our well publicised financial contraints it's good we can still attract players of this calibre in my opinion (again, if they sign)

Well if Devitt leaves that means we'll have got rid of 2 ex Stanley players this Summer along with Dugdale so our ex-Accrington quota would be similar to what it was last season.

Yes , I'm happy if we are signing Accy's better players. We have to have a better defence next season than we had last so welcome Dean and Wakefield if he signs.

I've no problem about signing probably their best defender over the past 2 seasons ( Accy forum) but Wakefied hasn't been a regular. Not sure about McCarten and if he's been impressive whilst at Stanley but sounds as though they have used him more as a left winger.

Anyhow it's the management teams call and they will have to stand or fall(?) by their decision but I just hope that they play signings in their true positions and that we don't have a repeat of the Amond situation...ie square peg in a round hole....

This is not filling me with much confidence being Accy reserves. Wilson, Molly from Accy and didn't do too well. Murphy can't comment on yet.

Piero Mingoia who I rated at Accy has also joined Cambridge on a free. Definitely some good players up for grabs this season. Bradford have released Billy Knott & Steve Davis. A few league clubs monitoring Chorley striker, Darren Stephenson as well.

Wakefield is on holiday an expected to be announced once he's back and as for McCartan it's talks only I'm told nothing agreed with him. A left back has got to be priority next, got told jim was looking to sign Conlan until the last few games of the season were his age and experience got found out, need someone solid with experience in that position !

Step forward a certain Kennedy formerly of Rochdale. Certainly fits the bill experience wise... :?: :?: :?:

Maybe 10 years ago, moly could fill in there but not being his normal position would struggle over the majority of the season. Wish we could raid accy even more an sign Buxton or Pearson
