Miller and Devitt

Are we really that surprised when the manager wouldn't play him 'cause he thought he might leave and needed to play those who he knew would stay.

Absolutely gutted...and even more so when he's gone to a fellow League 2 club and Carlisle in particular.

Can understand now how the Stanley fans must be feeling about our raid(s) on their squad.

Fully agree CC loosing a player to a team in the same league as us is always bad, normally they only leave to move up into league 1 and they only finished 10th.

I thought he would have found a club higher to be honest it's seems a bit of a sideways step for him.

Our offer to him must have either really low or Carlisle are paying him silly money in a push for league 1.

Sad to see Devitt go to Carlisle but I can't help but think he's sold himself short in going there when he had been linked with what I thought were better opportunities to further his career elsewhere. I assume its for good money - good luck to him!

Not sure the two compare. It's understandable that Accy fans would feel disappointed with players moving to us as we are of a similar size. Carlisle are a much bigger club with the potential to win the division. Can't blame Devitt for this, it's a great move for him.

Be surprised if they win the division with much bigger clubs than them still struggling to get out but I suppose they have a decent chance of making the play offs.

Get your money on relegation.
The budget has to be more than halved . Running a bottom half National league budget

So the budget is in line with the crowds we get then? Living within our means for a change.

There is obviously nothing in the pipeline to persuade the likes of Devitt to stay, no doubt Miller will be next .
Beginning to question why I wasted money on a season ticket .

He's enjoyed playing. Many were confused as to why he didn't play much towards the end.
He should keep a regular place in the Carlisle/Crewe teams and wouldn't have to relocate his family.

Can't blame him and good luck Jamie, our creatiuvity has just disappeared out the window :(

Nothing about Devitt yet on our OWS but you can go and watch England play Wales in the bar. Pies are on the menu.

In defence of the club, he was out of contract and was no longer our player. It's rare that clubs will comment on their out of contract players signing for other clubs.

Accrington have announced both Winnard and Mingoia on their OWS.

We're still very much part time and Non League in this respect regarding our OWS

They are obviously taking the approach of being pro-active and informative in their reporting as opposed to us where seemingly the bare minimum is the order of the day.

In fairness there is mention of our signing Winnard on the OWS in what looks like a bulletin issued by the League rather than a bespoke one from MFC.

Easy way out.... :? :? :?

Did anyone seriously think one of our best players was going to stay on the sinking ship that is Morecambe?

Miller won't be far behind him. If either were going to stay they would have signed the contracts they have been offered.

Realistically we were never going to retain Devitt and Miller. We finished 4th from the bottom and any decent player would want out of that irrespective of take-overs etc.

I assume Jim has known for a while hence his interest in Shay McCartan who is a player in a similar style to Devitt.

There is NOTHING on our website confirming his departure.

NOTHING has been tweeted by Morecambe FC directly about his departure.

However, we have simply retweeted Carlisle's announcement of his signing.

Lazy.

Infuriating.

I think it's been pointed out before that those who (voluntarily) update the website and social media feeds do so in their own time, mate, so I suppose nothing is likely to be posted until after they get home from work and have their tea. Anyway, we all know by now... ;)
