Great news.....lifting the blues! Makes me much more optimistic (within reason......no more play off expectations this time).

Welcome Luke.

Those types of left backs will be hard to find with our finances! I hope he proves you wrong too. I agree with what Jim says... hopefully he'll settle in like Barky did and progress well.

He's a very good young left back , and doesn't need a shitty welcome like that.

Excellent news, I'm delighted to see him sign for us. Shouldn't be too hard for him to prove KS wrong!

Havent we just signed a left back? Winnard has played the majority of his career at left back and we have signed him based on his performances in this position. The signing of Conlan suggests he will be played at LB and Winnard will be moved out of position to CB. Classic Jim!

Dean Winnard stated that his favourite position is central defender. He didn't like Accrington playing him as left back.

Good signing in my opinion that 'ticks the boxes' - plenty of upside and potential to develop into a saleable asset. Definitely an improvement on Wilson who was garbage during his second coming, admittedly whilst dealing with a host of personal problems.

I hope he does Keith, I'm not slating him saying its a bad signing just thought after a bad run into the season jim might of went with someone with abit more experience. I'd love to see Luke devolop into a good player for us !

Good points. Although Conlan never massively impressed me, he certainly looked capable. I would certainly have someone young and hungry with the potential for bigger things.

My mind however still keeps going back to that Cambridge hammering where Bentley cited a very inexperienced defense. I'd personally like an experienced head now added to our defensive options. Winnard has obviously been at this level a few years already and I am hoping Edwards is still growing. Would be good however to see a real leader back there to help the likes of Aaron and Luke along.

Think you ought to withdraw the 'Classic Jim' statement Teams like Morecambe ;)

Good signing but appears to contradict the managers previous statement where he expressed concern about the need for experienced defenders stating that luke lacked the experience he was looking for but personally a good player who knows the club and what to expect next season

This is a good signing, he has a load of potential and did well at the end of the season in a depressed defence. He also got down the wings well and whipped in some decent crosses

Well done Jimbo :D

like another C/B, but an experienced one, a defensive leader to keep Conlon and Mcgowan in line in a back four .

Molly played better in his prefered position at l/b and now conlon also coming in we should have a two fast players for that position.
