That is true but maybe negotiations are at an advanced stage ( I live in hope ;) ) that the Board see no need to raise expectations again by letting the clubs fans know what is going on.

Maybe the criticism of divulging things prematurely that haven't come to fruition (yet) has swayed them in the direction of 'silence is golden'.....which hasn't helped to placate 'bridge over troubled waters'... :?: :?: :?:

Question: how busy are the Samaritans? Everybody on here knows a little bit about what is going on at the club, unfortunately everyone contradicts each other! Oh for the glory days at Christie Park, so enjoyed watching Chorley, Marine and Runcorn in front of a couple of thous..oops hundred supporters!! As for getting fans from the Giant Axe how many 5? 6? Local rivalry still exists! Their fan must be laughing his socks off at the bickering and rife speculation on here! Get a flipping ( :o ) grip people

As someone once said.

"Imagine no McGuigan
And where the club would be,
Still playing in the conference
Away trips to Bromley.
Remember 300 people
Cheering on The Shrimps.

Imagine no Globe Arena
No purpose built new home,
Imagine no Shrimps Voices
nowhere to whine and moan.
Imagine 2000 people
Cheering on The Shrimps

You may say I'm a dreamer
Am I the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And Watch The Shrimps in league one.

Imagine No Jim Bentley
Colossus of a man
He bleeds red for Morecambe
Gives it all he can.
Remember 10,000 people
Cheering at Wembley.

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And watch The Shrimps in league one."

There is still no official word on our website about Dev leaving (not quite sure why that bothers me so much, but it does)

There is no mention whatsoever on our website about us having an away friendly match at Kendal Town on the 2nd August.

However, we do have a "Focus on Accrington Stanley" on our website

I've bought my season ticket and will continue to support this club no matter what. It never, ever ceases to amaze me though at the moment. And not in a good way.

There's now an article "Focus on Barnet" !!

A must read for everyone - Not.

Or, maybe like at our club, there's nothing going on at Colchester, Crawley, Crewe, Doncaster, Exeter, Grimsby, Hartlepool and Luton.....

Morecambe lost the Town when we moved to Westgate and chased after the wrong type of football fan (someone with money) and destroyed everything we had built up over the last 20 years.
Now we are struggling to excite the small fan base that we have because why would any new football fan buy a season ticket for the Shrimps?
Others teams are always giving their fans stuff to get them talking in pre season but we do feck all.
Now of couse we are talking to players but an update on the OS would not go a miss.
What are our plans for pre season training?
What did we vote in the Johnston Paint cup and the reasons why?
Pre season clean up/odd jobs can the fans help?
Who are the new academy players?
What are Drummond's hopes for the reserves?
how is Ellison's coaching badges coming along?
Any teasers for the new strips?

Sorry mate, I don't check this forum 24/7, I've got better things to be doing.

I'm not exactly going to say how I know but if you don't want to believe it then there's absolutely no problem. I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

You are right, without revealing any sensitive information the club do little, if anytning to create a ''buzz'' for the fans, it obviously isn't a priority at all, who's job should it be? I don't know but surely somebody working at the globe could log on for 5 minutes every few days with a few notes , a bit of trivia to keep fans interested, as I would imagine a fair few log on each day to see if anythings happening.

Think about it logically aswell. Why couldn't the club afford to keep all the players that were released? Why couldn't they afford to give Devitt and Miller better contracts?

A decade or so ago you would have an army of volunteers that would help out with things like this.

The comment of "destroyed everything we had built up over the last 20 years. Now we are struggling to excite the small fan base that we have" would probably explain why we now have paid employees and not the volunteers like we used to do.
