"hoped" is the crucial bit. PMG did say that it wasn't guaranteed so as not to get the fans in a frenzy in case the deal didn't go through.

IMO PMG has left himself wide open for being shot down... something is never sold until the paperwork is signed and the money is in your bank!

Yes, we are used to having the squad for virtually the whole season lined up by the end of June and look what has happened. We may hit the ground running, but they all soon catch us up and we are left behind like a tortoise at a Russian athletics party.
Might be a good thing, just hope we don't let go of the baton

Accrington have less signed up than we have and they usually put a decent team together.
