Well I whacked a tenner on CU to win L2 at 25-1 when I read about Jamie's signing, think the odds have shortened a bit now, wouldn't have much optimism that Miller will "rock the house" with the current line up to play off anyway.

Lack of positive newsflow is tending me towards severe anxiety about the season to come , am sure they will all try their best but there seems little at this point to differentiate from last years potential other than Deviitts move on the neg side

"New Carlisle United midfield man Jamie Devitt was persuaded to join the Blues by the club’s “crystal clear, unequivocal and attainable” aim of promotion from League Two next season.

The former Morecambe fans’ favourite had several other offers on the table, notably from newly-relegated Crewe Alexandra, but chose instead to join a Keith Curle-inspired Carlisle revolution that has already seen five new faces brought in.

“I had a coffee with the boss last week and it was after this conversation that my mind was made up,” said the 25-year-old Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.

“He made it clear that promotion, and nothing less, is the goal and not promotion by finishing in the top seven, and getting involved in play-offs, but by finishing in the top three and going up automatically.

“He’s a well-known, famous figure in football and he doesn’t want to be in League Two. Neither do I, so we’re singing from the same hymn sheet."

Be interesting to see if he does any better than the last Morecambe player to move North up the M6 (shortly after scoring at Wembley for us) The grass isn't always greener etc etc

We don't do news, we have to hear it from elsewhere first. It is on the cards it seems.

What have we done to make them stay? by the sounds of it not much. Doesn't look good news regarding takeover when our best two players last season leave. The future doesn't look bright at the moment for next season. Hope we here some positive news very soon regarding the club & signings.

Not surprised.

Im pretty sure if Miller scored 2 goals at home for Carlisle, he wouldnt be on the bench the following game against a bottom side.

Think ill bet on Miller being top scorer in L2 .

I don't think either of them were ever going to stay whether the takeover had happened in time or not.

A club finishing 4th from bottom is not a very good place to be if you are a decent player.

I thought they would have gone to a better club than Carlisle though.

We don't no that though do we. It can't have helped the players not knowing what the future holds at the club next season, when we have had no updates to the position of takeover ourselves. Unless the players do know & we will be told sometime. Very frustrating when Carlisle are one of our rivals from up the road.

I'm Angry at the failure of keeping our best players and also I really hate Carlisle now and I'm feeling that I'm going to boycott the Games absolutely idiotic by the club it's irritating about the take over and hardly any signings apart from two

That night in the motorway services on the way back from the Cambridge hammering, when we saw Miller drive in on his own, spied the Sardines bus and made the sharpest deviation and quickest exit you have ever seen, made it clear to me he wasn't going to be wearing a Shrimps shirt for too much longer

Well if I was Carlisle, I'd be hitting the anchors about now as far MFC signings go :D Devitt catastrophic loss, Miller not quite as big a blow in my view but another worrying signal that we could be withering on the vine next season , no sign of international rescue mobilising yet, hope someone knows what they are doing ?

I am really disappointed that the report of Miller going on the OWS only contains quotes from Carlisle's head of recruitment ! I couldn't care less what he has to say.
How about a quote from our management about how they made him a decent offer to stay but that he had decided to seek the greener grass.

The longer this "club sale" farce goes on the more I regret buying my 2 adult PMG tickets . If I was offered my money back I would grab it and walk away . its so sad seeing these players leaving and even worse going to a local rival.

Could someone clear something up for me please? Do Morecambe have a paid employee who deals with communications, OWS etc. or do we rely on volunteers? If the answer is the former then the lack of news about virtually everything is an absolute disgrace. It's no fun being a mushroom!

Your not alone there. If nothing happens soon regarding a takeover it will begin to look like a "hype" to get season tickets selling so that the club could pay wages in the Summer.

I was trying to work out how many players had left. I think it is 12 including Wilson who went some months back. So far 2 new players have come in so we are a net 10 players down.

Coleman expects Accrington to sign "double figures" in player signings by start of July !

Offered both of them contracts ???

Which they rejected for the lure of more pounds shillings and pence.

As been mentioned previously, sad they've gone, but not unexpected given the climate our club finds itself in.
