Of his 30 league goals he scored 21 of them against sides that finished in the bottom half of the table.
His other 9 goals break down as follows:
2 vs Barrow (11th)
5 vs Woking (12th)
1 vs Eastleigh (7th)
1 vs Dover (5th) (penalty)
So that means he managed to score 1 goal from open play all season against the top 10 in the division which probably tells you why Grimsby weren't willing to commit themselves to a long term deal on high wages.

I can remember great goals he scored for us against Fleetwood (winner) Chesterfield (winner) and Portsmouth (3rd in a 3-1 win) and all these were top sides so you can make stats look however you want.

I didn't want him to leave at the time, thought the 10 ish goals a season he was good for whilst not being the main striker would be hard to replace but Barkhuizen has proven me wrong on that front.
I certainly wouldn't have him back considering the amount of money he'll likely be demanding off the back of the season he's just had when he turns 29 this season.

That's because Miller scored more goals in a season than any other Morecambe player in the Football League aside from Phil Jevons whereas Podge was a bit part player in a team where he was overshadowed by Jack Redshaw.
To suggest that Miller and Podge are comparable is nonsense.
