A lot is said about "How the Club has lost the Family Feeling".

What do people think can be done to get this back?

We would like to put on some family themed events this season to try and bring it back.

What sort of things would you attend/enjoy?

We have done

Race Nights, Star in Their Eyes, Quiz nights, 80's Disco's and put on a "Live" group.

properly organised best of 3, winner stays on till the next game, 2 teams of 6, in fancy dress, heros welcome out of the tunnel from the matchday announcer, fun fun fun!

I fear you are right, '' the people at the top'' is A person who wants to take his money and go, full stop, and the fans that have left are very unlikely to return, any extra support is going to have to come from new younger fans and that could take a decade to build up.

The difficulties facing new owners are immense.

I've often thought something very cheap and simple to help bridge the gap between the corporates and fans, and something that would be suitable for families, would be to offer a hospitality table for 4 as a prize in the half time draw, so the winner could take 3 other supporters of their group or could bring some guests (i.e. spouse and kids) who wouldn't usually come down. The only cost to the club is the cost of the food they eat which is pretty minimal - it's hardly ever full so it's not as if they'd be taking the places of other paying corporates. If the club didn't want to pay the full cost, perhaps F-Com could sponsor it. I'm sure it's something that could boost the draw ticket sales too!

The fans club have been giving free hospitality tables (1 a month for 2 people) in their monthly draw, this has been going on for some time and I imagine it is still on for the coming season too.


I dare say, some have not used it because they think it was too good to be true, or that there was a catch

We need to be positive however difficult it is, a new owner will need time to get their feet under the table and see whats what, there are good people on the board ,they have little clout at the moment , a sensible new regime may listen to, or even , include some of them.

One of the benefits of being a member of The Fans Club is a monthly member's prize draw during the season. One of the prizes is a hospitality prize to a MFC game of the winner's choice (courtesy of The Fans Club) - so to a certain extent this is already happening. Its up to the club if they want to offer the hospitality prize as part of their half-time draw, the current format of which I personally think is a joke and makes the Canadian teachers union amendments to the national lottery look reasonable.

The Lancaster University Cheer Leaders were always good entertainment when they came down.

Shame they always did their routine facing the near empty PMG stand though as everyone in there had gone to the bar area or to keep warm under their roof.

Regarding halftime entertainment.

If your a few goals up at halftime your buzzing, entertainment isn't an ssue.

Well thats not strictly true is it, there were ple ty of goals going in at both ends when the moaning and the desertion started.

the moaning is mainly from the terracing , where there is no undercover and Sky Sports at half-time .

that's were most the damage as been done.
