2. They wouldn't agree with another referendum had they got a remain result

3. accept it, move on.

What evidence is there that it's 'the Remain side'? That statement implies, though I accept I may be misinterpreting your post, that this is part of something semi-official. Nigel Farage said before the vote that a 52/48% vote would be 'unfinished business' which could result in a second referendum. Personally I haven't signed the petition and don't intend to. The decision's made; I'll have to live with your decision like the whole country. I'm not desolate, I'm not crying foul, but I do think it's a decision we'll regret. Now we wait and see. At the very least Osbourne should go. He has absolutely zero credibility after this.

What doesn't make sense? As for education, O and A levels from a state school, and a degree from a former polytechnic. Not much privilege there.

For the first time I actually agree with what Tony Blair was saying on this morning's BBC1 Sunday Politics show that maybe a second referendum couldn't be ruled out if the new house that the country was now preparing to move to wasn't to the liking of the House of Parliament and to the nation as a whole.

Also that Scottish bitch seems to be now getting concerned that she may not get what she's been after following the EU saying overnight that Scotland may have to apply for membership and that it couldn't be guaranteed, assuming that she gets the Independence she's after which isn't guaranteed following a lack of appetite for yet another referendum on the part of many Scots.

Some not all EU members & Project Fear are now acting like

1) spoil sports, trying to frustrate Brexit moving forward.

2) so they can say we told you so

3) comeback with another referendum

don't fall for it!

There's not a cat in hells chance of a 2nd referendum and quite rightly not.

I suspect that my aged mother in law has a view that is that of many of her age group in that she voted OUT as she wanted a return to the days of the past and claimed that the youth of today had no idea of how much better things of the past had been compared with today.

To say that we had a heated arguement would be an under statement...

As for no second referendum.....who really knows what will happen in years to come... :?: :?: :?:

There is even that possibility of a new EEC out of the ashes of the present one.

I support a "KNOWING WHAT I NOW KNOW" referendum on the following grounds, of which I'm sure there are more

There are a significant number who voted to leave who now regret what they've done.

The overall result was swung by over 65 year olds.

75% of young people voted to remain. They may have had a lot of possibilities for their future taken away by the own grand parents. Shame on you grandma for such bigoted opinions.

Greater London has the right to be excluded from a BREXIT as does Scotland and to a lesser degree Northern Ireland.

The economic evidence appearing over the last few days. We've already lost our "5th largest economy" status to France and just about holding on to 7th before Italy. Let's hope the Pound doesn't weaken further

If we don't have the referendum now we'll be having it in 20 years time, when lots of the over 65s have died off and the cyclical nature of economies mean that the EU will be strong when what's left of the UK will be weak.

We could ask our excellent polish bricklayers to re build Hadrians wall before kicking them out, or , come to think about it, the EU could pay for it and the poles could move to scotland, along with the Banks and the car plants etc.

There will be a second referendum within two years. It will be called a "General Election".

I don't think that Article 50 can simply be signed by a Prime Minister because he doesn't have executive powers. Therefore there will need to be a motion & vote in the House of Commons first.

Probably. I say probably because I've not seen it written anywhere as to what *actually* has to happen.

Will the next Prime Minister win such a vote? In all probability, if it was a free vote, based upon individual MP's views, almost certainly not. However, that would mean an awful lot of MP's voting against their constituents declared Referendum view. Would David Morris, who supported 'Remain', vote 'out' because the people of his constituency indicated that this was their desire? Or, would he be 'safe' voting how he wanted, on the basis that the majority in Lancaster was 'only' 2.2%.

If they did that, would there be a huge backlash come the General Election, with a swing to the far right as people feel angry at being ignored? Or, will enough people actually feel relief that what they intended as a protest vote, didn't have long term consequences, to maintain the status quo?

Personally, I think it is a shame that people used this referendum as a protest vote, because the real protest change could have happened by supporting Corbyn. Now, it looks very unlikely that he'll get to the General Election as Labour leader. Instead, there will be another establishment Labour leader, probably the war-mongering Blairite, Hilary Benn.

Despite being a 'Remain' supporter, I hope the UK does have a Commons vote to leave before the next election and that it is supported, because I think the alternative will be a huge shift to the right at the General Election if they don't.

Can anybody really see Corbyn as a potential PM :?: :?: :?:

The country needs strong leader ship from BOTH parties but surely Corbyn hasn't exactly covered himself in glory re the referendum.

As for the Conservatives....step forward Teresa May....probably as strong if not stronger than Thatcher... :o :o :o

Which is why I said, I don't think he'll survive. At heart he was an 'out' supporter, trying to defend a political 'in' position. Badly.

Theresa May? Strong? What was her position on the Referendum? Did she express it? Did you see her anywhere? Or was she keeping her head down, being a political opportunist? Theresa "and I'm not making this up" May or Boris Johnson? Great choice. Maybe David Morris should throw is hat in to the ring, at least he can build roads all on his own

I think it all depends on this! If other counties such as Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands etc follow it will all work out....if not were fucked!

I don't understand why people are gloating that Leave won the vote. It's not an FA Cup final.

However, I am looking forward to staying in one of the many new space age hospitals we've been promised. They sound delightful.

I think you will find it started with Mr P, the night before the referendum with premature gloating of Brexit

I was hoping for some easy money , luckily for me no one took me up on it, if you want an argument over who started what thats fine by me, I don't give a toss, it will be funny when the decision is challenged and reversed, referendums are tools of fascists masquerading as democracy, they don't really let you vote on something unless its unimportant.

No, although I thnk a big mistake has been made a second referendum would be like admitting , we are not a democracy at all, a lot of young people are angry that folk with one foot in the grave have screwed up their futures, old people are cross that more young people never voted , etc etc etc, its done now, move on.

I never said it rules, it's the least worst alternative, at the moment our leaders are unable to totally manipulate referendums properly, Hitler used them to get what he wanted, having said that , given that Cameron has been telling us how bad the EU was for years then suddenly changing his mind its possible we have been duped!

Jolly good old Great Britain of old won't happen again, despite what all the disillusioned old farts expected when they voted out. This is all new gubbins that's unknown, unplanned and, let's face it, unnecessary but, to coin a well-known phrase, it is what it is.
