League 2 Dark Horses?

League 2 Dark Horses?

Postby Christies Child » Thu Jun 30, 2016 12:48 pm

Who do my fellow SVers think could be ONE team who could be regarded as outsiders for this seasons promotion battle.... :?: :?: :?:

Looking at the signings that they have made then for me Hartlepool are my choice as being 'dark horses' for the promotion battle.

Obviously I'd like our own lads to be up there fighting for a promotion place and there is no reason that we can't do an Accrington and rise from the ashes of last season to make a determined push but for me it all depends on the management team playing it's best 11 every game and being more concerned in what we do rather than stopping the opposition.

Mansfield for me so far but too early to say, will need to see who else teams sign over the coming month or so.

We are favourites at 3/1 to go down, with Crawley and Newport close behind, depending which bookie

Pompey clear favourites for promotion, with Doncaster on their shirt tails. We are 16/1 with Crawley and Newport.

They are certainly not giving much away at this early stage. Imagine giving us 100/1 then we get rebranded the "Virgin" Stadium

Having said that you can get 100/1 on us to win the thing

PS Leicester are slightly less than 5000/1 this time, still 30/1 though

Barnet finished strongly last season. Carlisle maybe not dark horses but could go really well. Agree on Mansfield, too.

Lets be bullish. How about the relegation favourites Morecambe being the dark horses.

Dafter things have happened , just look at Leicester City last season.

We need a chairman who lands his helicopter in the centre circle first!

I bet what happens this season is Jimbo puts all of his effort into the League and we finish 17th and get knocked out of every cup at the first chance...
I hope Carlisle aren't in league one in a years time - no explaining needed!!

I think it's important we do well in at least one of the cups this coming season.
It creates interest in the town and wider area. It usually gives us a bit of publicity on Radio Lancashire,
and it can create momentum for the rest of the season, as well as the extra income generated too.
Last season's F.A.Cup defeat to Dagenham had such a negative effect on the whole club that it may have contributed to our decline in the second half of the season.

PMG said all this again last night. With the lack of Saturday games added in to the equation it had cost the Club £125K in lost revenue

It's about bloody time that the fans started to believe in what they are being told rather than certain individuals constantly having a pop at the clubs Chairman.
