Excellent news and a good signing.

We have a couple of good young ones now in Rhys and Paul Mullin. Just need an older head , someone like Dean Smalley and striking options will be good.

Welcome Rhys BUT for me we still need a hard, powerful and tall midfielder to compete in the midfield aerial battles we have lost out in during previous seasons far too often.

So much for the crap that was written about the playing budget being halved.....

Never heard of him but surely we can't go into the season with 3 strikers 22 and younger ?

He's been impressive in trials, not like you to be ''unimpressed'', CC :)

Good luck to him.
Some have said they won't pay to watch other under 23 teams (includes 4 over age players). Looking more and more like thats what we will be doing on a weekly basis.

McGowan 20
Conlan 21
Wakefield 22
Edwards 23
Kenyon 24
Wildig 24
Turner 20
Stockton 22
Barkhuizen 23
Mullin 22

Where's Alan Hansen?
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

It was me not KS. Was wrong on the keeper. It is/was an attacking midfielder with the same name

Same first and last name?

Is he Scottish or was he just playing in Scotland last season?

Just watched the interview on you tube , sounds like he has been somewhat injury prone in his short career . Let's hope we don't push the lad too hard and end up with another long term sickie

yeah that's the only concern, hamstrings can be manageable , with alternative training.

looks a good finisher, liked how his first 2 goals were taken with his left foot, looks comfortable shooting with either foot first time.

A big gamble for me. Hope he doesn't turn out like Hendrie & Carr did under Sammy. Not a prolific scorer by previous clubs, even when at Oldham for two seasons only managed 2. I hope Jim gets the best out of him like he did with little Jack but will have to wait and see. If rumours are correct about Smalley then I hope is injury spell is over because all we need is to be without Murphy & Smalley with further complications. If we are to have a smaller squad we need a strong enough squad to get us over the line & not worrying about players side lined for months.

One thing he isn't (yet?), is an 'excellent signing' so don't exaggerate to be positive.

He is however a young striker worth a gamble on who we hope will score goals and we welcome him to the club fully.

Have you seen him play for Oldham ??

I have. A fair few times. And he's an excellent signing.

Latics fans are disappointed he's gone.

All the Oldham fans that have been tweeting etc think we have got a good player.

The fact that we have given him a 2 year contract before he has kicked a ball in a pre season friendly suggests our management have seen a good player.
