Who was our no 4 v Bury. Looked a decent central defender Guy who scored 2 of the goals took them well but maybe too lightweight for our league. Pity the 2 guys from Burnley didn't figure. Central midfielder looked familiar but haven't a clue who he was

What were the opposition teams like? First Teamers or under 15's?

So how did that work out then?

Really nice afternoon of sunshine football at the Globe. Although I couldn't name all our players, thought they did really well against higher opposition. That's 7 goals we've scored, 0 conceded. Bring on the Clarets!

Not a bad day today, just 11am till 1 am. Pleased to be part of it, pre season is often the best part. Scored goals and none against, management will be delighted, some players stood out and did well, will be interesting to see which ones we sign. Thought Blackburn and particularly Bury were very average today.
Like our no.4, reserve keeper, No.17 and Stockton.
Morecambe won a tournament! Something for the trophy cabinet.
Sponsors box rocking :D

The Blackburn fans I spoke with were very knowledgeable about their players. They said they played half the squad against Bury then the other half against Morecambe. The 11 against Morecamve were a strong 11, although the centre back pairing for them was youth/academy last year. I have to say I thought they were impressive against Stockton & Wilding. No4 I think was Dean Winnard? The trialist who scored 2 in the Bury game looked a handful for a slight Little'un. Both Ken & Jim called him Jake. Don't know his last name.

All 4 goals are on the Morecambe FC twitter account and the 2nd and 3rd goals are referred to on there as being scored by "JaymeMcc". His twitter is not public but his name is Jamie McDonald. If its on the official twitter I would think he has signed for us or is signing for us.

Our no 4 v Bury was an unknown triallist but for me was the pick of the lot.
Mcdonald is too lightweight for our league.
A pity that the Burnley pair didn't appear. Maybe the rumour that Burnley wanted askance abouttheir involvement has scuppered any deal.

McDonald was very good at Bamber Bridge and very good again yesterday IMHO.

Our previous Jamie (Devitt) was equally lightweight in appearance but made up for that in guile. Maybe our management team see him as a replacement for Devitt.

Devitt was very lightweight, as was Redshaw.

I'd be more than happy to see McDonald signed and given a chance.

McDonald looked very promising against higher league players but obviously CC is the expert on these things. I suppose he was looking the other way when Burnley youngster Agyei came on and set up Barky's goal.

Had to chuckle when the team squad numbers were read out
Bury players shirts didn't carry a number so the squad numbers were no use to those who don't follow bury regularly :D :D

It was in fact one of our 2nd year academy players who set up Barky's goal as Burnley may have stipulated that Agyei play a significant number of first team games if we took him and his Burnley colleague on for the season which Jim and Co may find unacceptable hence the reason they were no show yesterday.

I'm still concerned about our lightweight midfield and the obvious need for an out and out wide man. With due respect to Muller's he isn't a wide man although he tried to do his best yesterday.

Apologies then, told on Berlin Wall it were Agyei. Wasn't the keeper the Burnley lad either then?

Correct about the goalkeeper. It was Danijel Nizic who looked good.

I know that Jim wanted Michael Rose a couple of seasons back but if the triallist left back was Michael in the Bury game then personally I'd prefer Conlan.

First time in a while I really enjoyed yesterday's games. I hope Jim can bring in some of the triallists. Didn't think much of the left back in the first game nor the midfielder in the second I'm afraid. Croasdale looked good, as did Hedley, so they're two potential new midfielders. Wakefield and Winnard were really impressive and a great improvement. I don't think JamieMc is too lightweight at all, we need some nippy/tricky players. Afraid I can't see Mullers getting much game time this season, nothing special yesterday, but again, maybe that was being out of position. Quite a lot of excitement around the place watching some new/young blood especially attacking. Really looking forward to the next few friendlies and regained a bit of optimism as to the future if Jim can sign some of these.

Like the idea of McDonald alongside Stockton, if we play a system that can allow for that.

Who is Hedley and what do we know about him. Was he the lad who looked a bit like the ex Man Utd player Roy Keane.... :?: :?: :?:
