Burnley Game

Postby marky No.1 » Mon Jul 18, 2016 12:35 pm

Hot day tomorrow, up to 28 degrees. Forecast just said 21 degrees overnight, then thunder lightning and hailstones later on

This should test our fitness, on and off the pitch!

What about the 2 Burnley trialists? Think they will be on parade tommorow if so in what shirt?, they both looked to have good potential , albeit against spirited but limited ability opposition at BB

Looking forward to more encouraging signs tommorow, :?: :?:

I agree. The past week has been more of an ease into the season with a simple game vs BB and 60 mins on Saturday... Burnley will be a challenge in the heat against a tough opposite... Looking forward to it! COYR!

Be a good test for our lads tomorrow against a top burnley side well organised. We always seem to do well against bigger clubs in pre season so wouldn't surprise me to see us get a decent result. The back four will be up against it if burnley start a strong side tho !

Yeah, Gray and Vokes will be a different kettle of fish, but with Roche in goal we should be ok

Don't think Vokes has had to report back in yet after the Euros.

Can remember a few years ago beating Burnley 1-0 in a pre season game with a quality goal by Jack Redshaw.

All the Burnley fans were calling for Sean Dyche's head after the game and on their forums but they went on to win promotion to the Premier League that same season !!

Looking forward to tonight !!

Just hope we can keep the scoreline to a respectful one. Will certainly be a test for our midfield and defence and will provide Jim and co with the info they need with regards to squad needs as we look forward to another season in the League.

Saturday's game away at Halifax should be interesting and certainly more of a level playing field. Just a pity that Jimmy H isn't in charge, mind you it is more probable that the game wouldn't have been played if he had still been there.

Not sure what to expect from Burnley's line up tonight as the local paper ( on Tuesday @ 16.24) reckons it could be made up of younger squad players. A squad of 22 players spent the last 2 weeks in Lake Garda Italy which did not include the 2 trialists we had on view at Bamber Bridge last week which could suggest that they are both out of the managers plans for the foreseeable future hence the possibility of some sort of deal being sorted with ourselves assuming that we can guarantee game time for both of them.

the 2 trialists are both young lads out of the development squad anyway , nowhere near the first team, I think they will bring a lot of first team players as no one in the 22 they took to France played more than 45 minutes.

Not heard much about the game. Who lined up for us? Who looked good? What was the crowd?
