When I was walking away from the ground one Burnley fan was complaining about Robinson pushing the ball out for Turner to score, his friend said I don't know why they even give him a wage  , There was ironic applause from the Burnley fans when he next caught and held onto the ball.

To be fair, it was a big game for Lancaster...

Morecambe played well against a strong Burnley , I was impressed by Molyneaux who looks like he could play the Devitt role.

A decent crowd with possibly 500 Dingles.

It was all about getting game time, so lots of substitutions for Burnley, and a good chance for Jim to look at his trialists, who were on the whole, impressive , Hospitality was busy and the good away support was a bonus for the coffers, and I must say that the food was excellent tonight.

No doubt to quell discussion, not only were our our trialists not named on the teamsheet, our shirts didn't have numbers on. A guessing game was part of the entertainment, even Swidz didn't name subs on or off.
Thought we looked pretty good and fit tonight..quite a few looking for a contract.
Gray made a difference, but was handed it on a plate for their goal. Shame really, a shout from the keeper was all it needed.
Think Kev was outnumbered and expected the Premier team to know who he was

Both goals were a bit of a shambles... A short-range header and a bit of poor defending... It's a shame that's all that will get showed on highlights instead of the really close efforts both teams had.

Tom Kennedy was outstanding last night.

Really hope we give him a contract.

After watching Saturday's games and last night's, the triallists and new signings really stood out and I hope that a sale is imminent and that Jim can sign up some of the triallists - we need them. Last year's players, on the whole, were the weak ones making mistakes and alongside the new faces, you can quickly see why we struggled last season. If Jim can't sign say 3/4/5 of the triallists, I think we're in for another roller-coaster ride. I can see a few of our familiar faces from last season just warming the bench this time around.

McGowan was at his best, shame about his mistake which ultimately led to their goal, but it wasn't a direct result - another couple of players cocked-up too! Big Kev was completely anonymous except for one time when he was one on one with the goalie and managed to foul him! No-one reminded Kenyon it was a friendly - as if a yellow card wasn't enough on Saturday, last night he did another aggressive foul and ended up in a fight!

Stand out player again for me was Winnard who is not just an excellent defender, he was again an excellent captain.

I've gone away from the friendlies thinking all the trialists were better on the whole than our existing contracted players.
In an ideal world we would sign most of the trialists. I think the fact that all the trialists are still with us suggests Jim also thinks they have improved the squad somewhat.
And Peter Murphy set to come back in September too.

Must agree the trialists we're good but let's not forget that they are on trial so will go that extra yard
Always remember Lee Elam giving 110% when contracts were near and then less than once signed,
Think we could do with loaning out a few to get some of these trialists in,
Mullen,
Fleming
Could go for me as we have seen better

Anyone know why the last minute change re substitutions. A different 11 were expected for the second half, especially after the heat of the first half, and even the announcer read out a different 11 squad at the end of half time, but the same squad came out again, so there must have been a last minute decision during half time to leave the same team on which seems odd when it looked as if Burnley put on a completely different 11?. Then we got dribs and drabs of substitutions (just 6) in the second half, none of whom seemed to make much of an impact and the game seemed to fizzle out. First half we were an attacking team, but second half it was all defence. Just wondering what the logic was re the last minute change in substitutions?

To be fair the changes we made affected us and look at Burnley's subs, most of them will start in the Premier League, Marney, Grey, Darikwa, Boyd, Tarkowski etc etc, so maybe a little harsh to suggest we didn't attack. Surely we have to factor in the opposition and its a friendly?

Saturday's game away at Halifax should be interesting and certainly more of a level playing field. Just a pity that Jimmy H isn't in charge, mind you it is more probable that the game wouldn't have been played if he had still been there.
