Was this thread just a joke to give us all false hope? :(

Been checking SV more times a day since Friday than I normally do in a month :?

Yeah, it was all a marketing scam to increase the visits to SV ahead of the new season! 8-)

Only my opinion but if and when someone does sign on the dotted line, I can't see there being a suitcase with loads of handouts for JB. Their first job must be to turn the Club around into the self sufficiency that we have been led to believe we were heading for, rather than hemorrhaging the amounts of money that we have been doing.

Hear hear! The club needs turning around if there is to be any future. No use at all just giving Jim a load of money as it'll do nothing to eliminate the huge losses every year which will eventually drag it into obscurity and liquidation. We need a new owner to bring new ideas and re-engage the club with the community and core supporters first and foremost to reverse the ever-decreasing attendances. They need to invest in the stadium to increase income/profits, i.e. the office block, improving the bar, better facilities behind the stands etc. Yes, Jim's budget also needs to increase, but it's pointless and just money down the drain without addressing the clubs' other problems. We need someone who's going to address several different issues at once and hopefully bring in some marketing/operational experience to address the club's weak areas. The last thing we need is someone who's just going to throw a load of money at the existing staff/management as without root and branch reform, it'll just get pissed away like a lot of the Sainsbury money.

Any changes by new owners will not be instant as things take time to sort things out and people thinking that changes off the pitch will always take times and its up to the owners to do with the money not the fans

It will not happen instantly I agree engage with the fans but the only way is do wholesale changes from the bottom up to get that if we can get in to a promotion charge and that means having a decent team if the owners are Chinese they are the biggest corporate magnates in the world who knows where we are going

In total agreement that the club needs to be turned around and new areas of increasing revenue need to be introduced.

However investment in the team needs to coincide with that in the club to increase attendances by playing attractive and winning football especially at The Globe. More spectators brings increased revenue.

It will have to be a careful and well managed use of whatever new investment is made but I don't expect any new investment to be mega bucks.

But without doubt major changes in the structure of the club are called for if we are to have any future at all.

Interesting break down on Jim's tenure to date:
