Thanks for the info KS.

Where does Rose play? There was a trialist I didn't recognise who seemed to play in midfield vs PNE?

Wikipedia calls him a defender although maybe a holding midfield player.

He started at Manchester United so decent pedigree and has scored over 30 career goals so half a dozen this season would help the cause.

Primarily a left back, thats where I remember him from his days with Chester & Hereford when we used to come up against him quite often in the Conference. He's played more in a defensive midfield role as hes got older.

Very similar to Alan Goodall and in many respects a direct replacement for him in terms of experience, versatility and the role he'll likely play in the squad.

Two good additions I'd say.

Dunn just scored a great equaliser here for Liverpool

More good news

Welcome to Morecambe Michael.

A very good signing , lots of experience with decent clubs and over 30 goals.

He will have signed on 1st August which means that Rochdale have to pay him his July salary whereas if he had signed in July we would have had to pay it.

That man Kendal_Shrimp does it again :D :D

I notice that the OWS says that, as well as the experience he brings, he is a leader. Wonder if Jim is thinking of making him captain if Murphy is not fit to start the season.

Michael was the big surprise on the Rochdale released list. It says he had an outstanding second half of last season. Not many of our players had one of those !

Murphy is not fit. Didn't his interview last month state an October return?

We have several potential captains on the staff now , Peter Murphy obviously when he is full fit , Dean Winnard and now Michael Rose.

Part of the problem last season was no proper captain to stand in for Peter Murphy. Shaun Beeley was not the right man IMHO.

Murphy was training with CS on the pitch before the Liverpool friendly. Good to see, but he's definitely not fit - looked absolutely knackered walking off the pitch and there's a hint of a limp. I seem to remember it was said to be September/October. I hope they don't rush him back like last time - far better to have a few more weeks to get fit rather than an early return and another injury. Would be good for Jim to have him in reserve for later in the season when others pick up injuries or start to get tired.

Another good signing. Welcome to Morecambe Michael.

Shame we couldn't have had Harry Wilson on loan as well from Liverpool.

Now we just have to prove once again that we are a force, rather than relegation contenders again for the 10th season. :o

Pleased with this signing along with Jack Dunn, hopefully we can get the lad from Burnley? Who was on trial with us and maybe two? attacking midfield players and our squad should be okay?
