Can't argue with much of that.

They have sold 3,000 season tickets and another 1,700 in advance for Saturday. There will probably be 6,000 with 144 Shrimps to make the numbers up.

They have a league prediction running on one of their forums (only about seven predictions so far) and Morecambe are in the bottom two on all of them. One comment says it should be an easy three points for them on Saturday. It would be nice to knock the wind out of their sails.
"Accrington Stanley" Who are they??????????????

Normally you can find a handful of more knowledgeable and informed websites / bloggers who will tip us to do much better than the bookies have us but it's not the case this year. Everyone seems to have us finishing bottom.

Everyone is going by our awful defending from last season with their predictions. But we have improved our defence haven't we?

Rose is still rated by many Dale fans & they reckon he can still do a good job at our level. They said on the forum is best position is midfield. Winnard will prove to be a decent signing. Hopefully Dunn & Turner will keep their new keeper busy tomorrow picking the ball out of the net. ;)

The back four that started in our 7-0 defeat to Cambridge:

McGowan, Edwards, Doyle, Conlan

Our first choice (arguably) back four this season:

McGowan, Edwards, Winnard, Conlan

I'm absolutely terrified by our defence, I don't think we've imporved it at all and have arguably got worse!

We also have Rose & the lad on loan from Burnley who will also be good additions. If Jim uses the team right then we will get the best out of the players. If we don't and injuries mount up then we are in trouble.

Stop it , your frightening me !!

I think Wakefield will play.

It wasn't just the defence that was responsible for all the goals. Midfield was awful too. I'm expecting Michael Rose to improve the defensive duties in there.

For arguments sake, the back four could be Wakefield Winnard Whitmore and Moly!! Depends if the glass is half empty!!

For me one of the reasons for last seasons dreadful defending was that our full backs allowed too many crosses to get into our box where Edwards and that now departed clown couldn't cope.

So for me Edwards is the current weak link int the centre and needs to be replaced.

He certainly wasn't / isn't the player we knew when he came from Blackburn.

simple solution stop the crosses!! Stop giving opposition players the width and space to put a cross in. Basic defending surely

This is what bothers me! The fact we have choices and can change things round too much.. we are now in to the first day and I bet we don't have (or dont know) our best choice 11 in their best positions - so we will be constantly experimenting.

Which is what we did against Burnley quite well , but when we played Preston it was back to last seasons tactics . Its like having four centre-halves and no full-backs .
