Tom Kennedy

Next Tuesday is it ???

First I have heard and I too was a "founding member" as CC puts it.

I'll be at Kendal Town that night.

I couldn't make the last meeting which was planned for the Tuesday but then moved at late notice to the Thursday (I arranged my work commitments so I could attend the original Tuesday but the re-arranged Thursday was impossible)

I'd have also maybe thought some meeting notes might have been sent to those who were unable to attend but to no avail sadly.

Tom Kennedy is still without a club.

We should go back to him with an offer.

Post haste.

Agree absolutely , I was disappointed that we didn't sign him.

If you watch our defence on the highlights they are like a man with diarhea who can't get his trousers down. They are all over the place !

They get the wrong side of strikers so often.

We need experienced defenders who are mean and nasty and do the simple things well.

1st game of the season and we're already playing a right footed player at left back whilst Molyneux and Conlan sit on the bench. Baffling.

You're boring me now with this one.

It isn't the 80's / 90's any more, the vast majority of teams don't play 4-4-2, the common formations are some variation of 4-2-3-1 with only one central striker. It isn't a requirement to be a "target man" to play this role, it's perfectly acceptable to have Jack Dunn playing in that position, his height isn't an issue.

And as I said, we did ok with Redders playing that role.

Well actually, no it didn't. I vividly remember many, many games with Jack wondering around on his own upfront and this board full of comments about how daft it was playing a short striker on his own (some things don't change).

I also remember Jim reverting to an up-front partnership of Jack and Kev for many games (2/3 seasons ago I think) where Kev was the target man and gave it to Jack. I'm pretty sure it was the time when Jim reverted to a 5-3-2 formation with 3 centre backs. It was mid to end season after a poor run and we were again relegation fodder. The change in formation turned it around, we started scoring and stopped conceding!

That's how I remember, but if others remember better, fair enough!

I'm struggling to think of a successful team who employ a single striker of such small stature..... :?: :?: :?:

However it's obvious that we don't agree about this matter.....no problem :) :) :)

Exactly....we need his experience in a defence that by the managers own admission is inexperienced....

I fear that the next two games will be a goal feast for the opposition.

Speaking of Jack is he injured or just massively out of favour?

Blackpool started 2 strikers on Saturday (Vassell & Philiskirk) and had another 2 on the bench (Cullen & Matt) whilst Jack wasn't even named in the match day squad.

Jack's injured. I listened to Radio Lancashire's man at Gloomfield on Saturday and he said he had a
re-occurrence of a previous injury.

Tom Kennedy has joined AFC Fylde who would appear to have been able to offer him a more lucrative deal than we could.

Still no news as to where Jamie McDonald has gone to.

I think our very young defence has looked pretty good in the last couple of matches. We had AJ on the bench and Moly who can both do left back and Winnard still to feature so Jim probably feels a sizeable wage could be used elsewhere if necessary.

Dan Agyei the Burnley striker we had on trial has gone to Coventry on loan until January 17th.
